Guardians of the Galaxy
#1 Mile High Variant
Upon my return to Denver yesterday afternoon, I was greeted with the wonderful news that our preliminary cover to our upcoming special variant edition of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #1 had just arrived from Marvel Comics! Drawn by the incredibly talented Mike Deodato, this exclusive Mile High Comics image is yet another in a string of great covers that Marvel has produced for us. Suffice it to say, we are very, very happy with all the folks at Marvel Comics who helped to create this beautiful variant cover.

Just in case you have missed the buzz that is now bouncing throughout the Internet, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #1 is going to be the starting point for an entire year's worth of continuity in the Marvel Universe. I cannot give you any specific details right now, but when I increase our own orders on certain upcoming new comics titles by 1,000% (!) over normal levels, that should give you a pretty clear indication that I think that this new Marvel GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY storyline is going to be a huge hit.

All of the above having been said, you can still place pre-orders with us for our upcoming exclusive Mile High Comics variant editions of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #1, and WOLVERINE (2013) #1, at a mere $6 per copy. You can contact Greg and Mario in our new comics subscription department by calling 303-455-2659 (weekdays 9-5), or writing to them at nice@milehighcomics.com. They can help you to arrange immediate shipment of all of our variants to you on the day that they release. Please do note, however, that we have been forced to limit advance purchases to no more than 20 copies on each of our variants, as this $6 advance order price is actually meant only as a special benefit for our most loyal fans. The release price on each of our two new variants will be set at a minimum of $9.95 each...

Before I leave the subject of new comics, I did want to mention that Greg and Mario also ship vast numbers of new comics on a monthly basis to over 2,000 hardcore comics collectors all around the world. If you are having a hard time finding new comics in your area, we built our online subscription service specifically to help you. We offer a graduated discount scale that begins at 10% off of cover price, and increases to a whopping 40% off if you buy a lot of new comics per month. Contact Greg and Mario today, and let them help you to obtain your weekly new comics quickly, easily, and at a bargain price.

Moving on to other news, I am going to keep our current 40% Off WOODCHUCK codeword sale in effect for you on all of our back issue comics and magazines for all of this upcoming weekend, and early into next week. Yet another 1,000 of the Silver Age and Bronze Age comics that I purchased in New York last week were added into our online inventory for you yesterday, all of which are eligible for the 40% off WOODCHUCK codeword discount. I know that I have said this before, but you really do need to checkout our New-In-Stock listings for this past week. I was looking at them on the bus home from the airport yesterday, and even I was amazed at just how many cool older comics I shipped back last week. Simply put, we have added more great back issues into our online inventory during the past 30 days, than we were able to add during the entire second half of 2012! With the 40% off WOODCHUCK codeword still applying to almost all of these great comics, this 40% off sale is a great mid-winter gift to you.

Greg and Mario
I will close today's newsletter with an incredible second chance offer for you. Right after last year's San Diego Comic-Con, I began writing in my newsletters about the big changes that were coming at Marvel. At the time, I received more than my fair share of flack from those who doubted that these reputed changes at Marvel would be anything but cosmetic. Well, fast-forward six months, and we have seen massive changes in many Marvel titles and storylines, almost all of which have been met with vastly increased interest and sales. Among the biggest new hit books is ALL-NEW X-MEN, which is selling so quickly for us that we are having a hard time keeping the issues in stock.

While we are now completely sold out of some issues of ALL-NEW X-MEN, we decided in late summer of last year to take the risk of printing an exclusive Mile High Comics variant edition of ALL-NEW X-MEN #1. That faith was greatly rewarded, as this variant has proven to be one of our best-selling new comics in our entire 43-year history. What I am going to do for you today, however, is to turn back the clock by six months, and give you a second chance to obtain free copies of ALL-NEW X-MEN #1. The deal is really simple: place any minimum $40 order with us over this weekend, and you can request a free copy of the standard edition of ALL-NEW X-MEN #1, place a minimum $75 order and you can request our variant edition, or place a minimum $100 order with us and you can request both! Just place your order with us as per usual, and then request your free issues of ALL-NEW X-MEN #1 in the "notes" section of our online order form. Please do note, however, this exceptionally generous second chance offer ends on Monday, promptly at noon.

I will close today's newsletter by once again thanking everyone who has placed an order with us. We work hard for you every day here at Mile High Comics to constantly expand our website selections of older and scarce comics, books, and comics magazines. Our effort also requires working capital, however, and it is only through your continuing support that we are able to keep accomplishing good deeds. Each and every order that we receive from you is very much appreciated, and ultimately helps us to provide you with even more wonderful comics in the future.

Happy Collecting!
