THOR (1962) (#83-125 JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY, 126-502) #115 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Thor (1962) #115
"The Vengeance of the Thunder God" is written by Stan Lee with art by Jack Kirby and Frankie Ray (Giacoia). Loki has kidnaped Thor's mortal love, the beautiful Jane Foster, and holds her hostage atop a tower in lofty Asgard. Armed with a sorcerous sword, the God of Mischief holds Thor at bay while Jane looks on in horror. Meanwhile, on Earth, police patrols and intrepid Affiliated Press reporter Harris Hobbs search for Crusher Creel, the escaped convict who is now the unstoppable Absorbing Man. Capable of taking on the powers of anything he touches or of any weapon used against him, the Absorbing Man brazenly takes over the suburban home of a young couple: confident no one can stop him from taking anything he wants.

As the police surround the house, Thor and Loki continue their sibling squabble in Asgard. Ere long, however, noble Odin breaks up the fight and listens as Loki tries to blame Jane Foster's appearance in Asgard on the God of Thunder. In order to discover the truth behind the accusations, Odin commands that Thor and Loki should undergo the Trial of the Gods. Thor begs for 48 hours before the trial begins to return Jane Foster to Midgard (Earth) and to battle the Absorbing Man. When the Son of Odin finishes returning Jane to safety, he joins the fantastic battle against the magnificent menace that was Crusher Creel. Also, don't miss "A Viper in Our Midst!," another of Marveldom's wondrous Tales of Asgard, written by Lee and drawn by Kirby and Vince Colletta.
