Howdy!

Today's newsletter is coming to you from near Wilmington, Delaware, where Ashley and I are visiting with our friends Titus and Sara, the new owners of the The Comic Book Shop on Marsh Road. We came to be here after a marathon travel adventure, with my wife, Nanette, dropping us off at the Denver airport at 6:45 AM yesterday morning. We finally arrived here in Wilmington at 9 PM last evening, after driving here from Newark Airport. Ashley and I fly in and out of Newark a lot, as she lives in Long Island, which is now easily connected to the Newark Airport by rail. Once we reach the end of our trip (after the Baltimore and Montreal conventions...), we'll turn in our Enterprise rental van, and she'll take the train home, while I will catch my flight back to Denver. It's all a bit convoluted, but at the end of the day, it works out for us really well...

My big news for today, is that Ashley and I will be at Marc Nathan's wonderful Baltimore Comic-Con this weekend. If you can get a chance to come to the Baltimore convention center on either Saturday, or Sunday, please do try and find us in the dealer's room. I genuinely do like to meet in person those of you who read this newsletter, so I would be quite delighted if you came up to me at the show and introduced yourself. Please don't hesitate to say "howdy!" if you see me with my nose stuck in a box of bargain comics at some dealer's table, as that's pretty much just the way that I kill time in between meeting new people. I can buy bargain comics all week long, but getting to know you is a one-time experience to me, so I consider it to be THE really important priority of my attending the convention!

While I am here in Baltimore, our inventory teams in Denver are continuing to add thousands of additional comics each day into our online inventory. The huge 5,000+ Silver Age and Bronze Age comics collection that I purchased on Monday is almost entirely graded and entered by now, with just a few DCs and 1950's Dell, Gold Key, Charlton, Harvey, and Archie titles waiting to be added to our online inventory for you. If you check out our New-In-Stock and Premium New-In-Stock listings for this past week I think that you will be completely blown away. As crazy as this may sound, our additions to inventory for just this one week far supersede the entire inventories of some other comics websites! Better yet, I closed yet another (!) great comics deal on Wednesday afternoon with one of our most reliable suppliers, which supposedly contains 20-30 long boxes (6,000 - 9,000 total comics) of issues printed between 1950 and 1982. I'll know the final details on this newest deal in about two weeks, but suffice it to say, I'm very excited at the prospect of being able to add even more great old comics into our website for you!

With even more comics arriving to us in the very near future, plus my already being out on yet another buying trip, Nanette has urged me to remind everyone that our current LABORDAY codeword sale provides everyone with a 40% discount on all of our back issue comics and magazines. Nanette is generally really cool about my buying old comics, but I've been on such a roll over the past couple of weeks that Nanette is telling me that, unless I can sell a few more comics via our website, that my buying budget at these upcoming conventions is going to need to be very small. I absolutely understand the wisdom of Nanette's budgeting caution, but I also have a great many friends in the comics dealer community who have come to rely upon the small checks that I write to them at conventions for their overstock comics. That being the case, I would ask everyone to please take a look at the incredible number of comics that we've already added into inventory during just this past week, to see if maybe a few of them might be nice to add to your own personal collection. I already increased our base discounts for you this week by altering the discounts to be much more generous for you in our entire pricing matrix, and am now also offering you the full benefits provided by our annual 40% off LABORDAY codeword (please keep in mind the codeword does not apply to new comics, trade paperbacks, hard covers, graphic novels, statues, or supplies). Of necessity, however, our codeword sale will need to end in just a few days, so I would urge everyone to take advantage of these great deals on all of our back issues while they are still available for you. Simply put, our pricing right now is just about as close to our cost as I can afford to go, and still covering our operating costs. Please enjoy this great LABORDAY codeword sale with thanks from me, Nanette, Ashley, and all of the rest of the great people who work for you at Mile High Comics.

Happy Collecting!

Advance Previews
of next weeks comics from
Archie Comics

PS: While I have been emphasizing all of the older comics that we have purchased of late in most of my recent newsletters, the reality is that we have also been adding about 4,000 more recent comics per day (!) into our website inventory. Those newer comics were hand-picked by Ashley and myself at conventions during June, so I know for a fact that a great many of them filled previous out-of-stocks in our online inventory. Click on any of the popular title quick links below to see if the 20,000+ recent back issues that we have added during just this past week have made available (or significantly lowered the prices...) comics that you would really like to own. The 40% off LABORDAY codeword applies to all of our recent back issue comics and magazines, too!
