All Comics On Sale - Free Shipping! Howdy! A quick newsletter today, as I am boarding a plane home from NY/NJ in about an hour. This comics buying trip has been very enjoyable, with my being able to meet with a large number of our wholesale back issue suppliers. The one negative is that I did not have enough time in any one place to complete my work, so I am returning to the East Coast in just 9 days. During this next trip I will spend some time in the Philadelphia/Baltimore region to catch up with all of my friends who I could not see this time (because I went north to Canada), and then I will return to Massachusetts to finish picking through about 1,500 long boxes that various dealers in that area have available for me. Suffice it to say, I am keeping very busy! While the majority of the comics that I have been purchasing of late are post-1980, it should make those of you who collect older comics very happy to hear that I was able to buy a 3,000 book collection yesterday that was about half Golden Age and Silver Age comics. A few hundred of those comics are coming back with me on the plane, so you can expect that our New-In-Stock and Premium New-In-Stock listings are going to be exceptionally good for the rest of this week. I also purchased a huge run of 1950's and 1960's MAD and CRACKED magazines yesterday, as well as a slew of HEAVY METAL and NATIONAL LAMPOON magazines. That one magazine deal contained over 1,000 hard-to-find issues, so that area of our website is about to undergo a nice improvement for you. In other news, the response to our new giveaway program is running a bit behind last month's, so if you enter your name in this drawing, your odds of winning are actually greater than before. If you missed my earlier announcement, this drawing is for 10 shopping sprees for back issue comics and magazines on our website, with the grand prize winner receiving a $500 gift, the second prize being a $200 shopping spree, then three winners will receive $100 shopping sprees, and the remaining five winners receiving $50 each. There is no purchase requirement for this drawing, as you can enter your name (once) by simply writing in a request to giveaway@milehighcomics.com. If you wish to enhance your chances of winning one of the ten shopping sprees you can do so by placing an order with us, and being sure to ask to be entered in the drawing in the "notes" section of the order form. For every $20 increment of your order you will be entered one more time. It is critical that you mention the contest in the "notes," however, as we are trying to restrict this contest to only those of you who regularly read this newsletter. My only other bit of news for today is a reminder to everyone that lives in the Denver/Boulder area that I will be conducting a non-minimum-bid back issue comics auction this Saturday afternoon at our Colorado Blvd. retail store. We will be having a signing on Saturday beginning at noon featuring local comics creators, and that event will morph into the comics auction at 5 PM. I have not hosted an auction at the Colorado Blvd. Location in several years, so I am really looking forward to seeing many of my old friends! If you cannot attend the auction and would still like to bid, check out the listing at the end of this newsletter. We will accept pre-bids from anyone who reads this newsletter through 2 PM on Saturday. Shipping on winning items is free, so you have no risk in bidding a low amount. Items in our auctions sometimes sell for as little as 20% of suggested retail, so why not place a few pre-bids? They are now calling me for my plane, so that's it for today.
