Comics Sale - 5,000 Pre-1985 Marvel, DC, Gold Key, Archie
Howdy!
I attended Derek Woywood's monthly comics convention yesterday in Essington, PA, right across from the Philadelphia airport. I have greatly enjoyed Derek's shows in the past, but yesterday's event was so crowded with hundreds of comics fans of that Ashley and I simply could not arrange any deals to buy comics, so we left at noon.

Derek Woywood's Comic Convention
While my report may sound negative, I have to say that I was actually very invigorated by the resounding success of yesterday's show. Seeing the better part of a thousand people shopping for back issue comics in a room that has sometimes in the past has had a hard time attracting even a couple hundred buyers, was very cool! I suppose I should not have been so surprised at the jump in attendance, however, as Derek's success mirrors what I am seeing at other comics shows this year. Clearly, interest in collecting comics is soaring, again!

Chuck in Basement
The good news is that we really did not need to buy comics at the convention. Thanks to the kind help of Bill Bead at New Jersey's Frankenstein Comics, we were able to arrange a wholesale deal on Saturday that allows us to select 25,000 comics out of a basement containing over 100,000 back issues. Picking that many comics that we need for the website from over 400 long boxes is tedious, but given what I am seeing in the comics market right now, I am quite grateful for the opportunity. Older comics are definitely becoming harder to find.
Based upon what we have already discovered, I will also guarantee you that the comics from that one untouched basement hoard will allow us to once again be able offer you at least a couple thousand issues that are presently out-of-stock on our website. Of special interest are several thousand comics from 1975-1985, many in unread VF/NM condition. Our truck shipment to Denver is leaving for Denver tomorrow, so many of those comics will be available to you almost immediately.
In the meantime, the
5,000+ Silver Age and Bronze Age
comics that I shipped back to Denver by express last week are already starting to appear for you in our
New-In-Stock and
Premium New-In-Stock
links.
Saturday's Premium New-In-Stock
was particularly diverse. All of those comics (except for new issues and CGC-graded issues) are still available to you at 60% off when you use our steep discount COMICS! codeword. Please do keep in mind, however, that the 60% off codeword will need be ending early next week.
These are some of the comics that I bought and are already for sale on
our Web Site.
