Comics Auction This Saturday

Howdy!

Hulk #181

I am sitting in Newark airport this morning, waiting to board my plane that will take me home to Denver. I have over 400 great Silver Age and Bronze Age comics with me on the flight, including one of the nicest VF copies of HULK #181 that we have owned in quite some time. These cool older comics are just a very small part of the 120,000+ back issues (!) that I purchased during the two weeks of this very long comics buying trip to the upper East Coast. I am very weary this morning, but shipping those 9 huge pallets full of comics back home yesterday made me very happy!

All of the above having been said, it should make you happy to know that at least 10,000 of the older comics from this buying trip are heading straight for the New Arrivals section of our Jason St. Mega-Store. At least 3,000 of those older issues will already be there on this Saturday morning, as I shipped 9 long boxes of particularly nice comics back by FedEx from New Hampshire last week, and they have already been graded and priced for you. Jon will be filing them into our bins at Jason St. all day today, and Friday.

Another very important reason for you to visit Jason St. on Saturday is that we are going to auction off 400 Silver Age, Bronze Age, and Modern back issue comics, at no minimum bid! Quite a few of these comics are from my New England purchases, and the diversity of offerings should please just about everyone who is a serious comics collector. The warm-up to this great comics auction will begin at 11:30 AM, with the first of the 400 main items going up for bid at noon. I will be auctioning quickly, so I am guessing that the auction will end before 2 PM. I hope that you can attend this fun event!

I will close today's newsletter with a strong encouragement to everyone to pre-order copies of our upcoming special Mile High Comics variant editions of WOLVERINE #1 and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #1. We pre-sold over 70% of our just-released SAVAGE WOLVERINE #1 issues at only $6 each, and those are now selling well for us at $19.95 each. As the listing at the end of this newsletter clearly shows, the rest of our Mile High variants have also done very well in the secondary market. You have about one week left to pre-order WOLVERINE #1 and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #1 at only $6 each.

We are still accepting pre-orders for our two upcoming variants at all four of our retail stores, and also via our online subscription service. You can contact Greg or Mario at our subscription service at nice@milehighcomics.com, or call them (weekdays 9-5) at 303-455-2659.

FYI, Marvel has informed us that they have huge plans for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY during 2013 and 2014. If you miss out on #1, you will really regret it, as Marvel's biggest story of the year will begin in that issue. You heard it here, first...

Happy Collecting!
