Jim Shooter at Mile High Comics Tomorrow Night Howdy! The excitement is building here at Mile High Comics, as the Denver Comic Con is this weekend. Closer to home, our Opening Night party for the convention is tomorrow (Thursday) evening from 5-9 PM at our Jason St. Mega-Store, 4600 Jason St. There is no cost to attend our party, and we are running a free shuttle from the downtown Hyatt hotel approximately every 30 minutes (4:30 PM - 10:30 PM) on Thursday for out-of-town attendees who would like to visit the Mega-Store. If you are coming to this year's DCC, we hope that you can attend our party! JIM SHOOTER In case you are wondering, we have over 25 guests from the comics world signing autographs at our store tomorrow, including our great friend, Jim Shooter. That having been said, we are allowing fans to bring in up to 20 items from their own collections to be signed, but we request that you bring a list of the comics you are bringing into the store, and that you please limit yourself to no more than five items for any one creator. A complete list of our attending creators is at the end of today's newsletter. For those of you who shop with us online, we are going to offer a free service this year of having items autographed that you purchase from us before the start of tomorrow's party. The cutoff for those requests is tomorrow, at 4 PM Mountain Time Zone. Only artists and writers attending our party are eligible, and I want you to know that we cannot be responsible if someone cancels at the last minute. Simply put, this free offer is something we are only doing to try to spread the joy of our party around the world. (Please put in the notes section with book(s) you would like signed and by who.) Speaking of joy, I want to sincerely thank those of you who have been placing online orders with us this week via our website. Now that we have finished moving, we have been busting our tails over the past five weeks to get completely caught up in our shipping of orders, while simultaneously adding thousands of new additions into our New-In-Stock links. Both of those successful efforts have clearly been rewarded, as has been by the amazing resurgence in orders that we have been seeing from our online friends this week. Thank you! As an aside pertaining to our New-In-Stock and Premium New-In-Stock links, did you know that we have a program of sending out free notifications to fans when certain comics and books arrive? Our "Want List" program is free to join, and only requires that you set up a personal password so that only you can access your Want List. Once your Want List is established, you can add as many titles and issue numbers as you wish. When an item on your list is then entered into our website inventory, a notification e-mail is automatically sent to you letting you know that issue and/or issues are back in stock. There is, however, never an obligation for you to buy that item if you do not wish to do so. This is just a free service that we offer to help you to build your collection quickly and easily. We have over 10,000 fans already taking advantage of this program, which explains why so many of the desirable comics that Pam lists in our daily New-In-Stock updates sell out so quickly. 'Nuff said.
