Probably the biggest new over the past month is DC's Rebirth set for this summer. While most details are sketchy, we hope to have more details in March and official solicitations in the April Previews. We do know most titles will be restarting at issue #1 while Action Comics and Detective Comics will pick up the pre-52 numbering. Like most of you, we are waiting for more information. Over at Marvel,
Civil War II
is beginning with issue #0 and Steve Rogers is returning to the mantle of
Captain America. The
Daredevil/Punisher
mini-series looks to bring the Punisher back in a major way along with his appearance on the Daredevil TV series on Netflix.
Beasts of Burder and
Lobster Johnson
return to Dark Horse in new mini-series while IDW has it's first Back to the Future spin-off with
Citizen Brown.
Pink Panther
Image introduces
3 Floyds: Alpha King

Pink Panther
returns to comics with a new series at American Mythology. Titan starts new series for
Penny Dreadful and
Tank Girl: 2 Girls 1 Tank
as the
4001 A.D.
event begins at Valiant.
While we focus on major and minor publishers listed in Previews at Mile High Comics, we also like to foster local talent. One such group is Red Team Go! that is made of local comic writers and artists from the Denver area. Together, they have created an anthology comic titled Dinopocalypse, based on the premise that sees the world fall into chaos when dinosaurs return as the dominant species on the planet. Red Team Go! has published 2 issues containing various stories of humans finding their way in this new world. I compare it to Walking Dead but with dinosaurs instead zombies. You also get a variety of stories, both humorous to serious, much like the classic EC Comics. With different characters like a simple couple to a mysterious loner, all fighting for survival, the tales are a great fit for many different tastes. The stories are also set around Denver and Colorado so the local references are interesting but not necessary. Walking Dead is set in the South, but does not focus on it, so it is NICE to see a Midwest sensibility without becoming bogged down by it.
Like Walking Dead, the books are in black and white but there are plans for full-color issues if things can work out. The issues themselves are broken up into 4 short stories that feel they can lead into full issues or story lines following the more popular characters. Issues #1 and #2 are already out and in stock, with issue #3 scheduled to be released in late March and have cover prices of $4 each, like most comics in Previews. If you would like to try these out, just let Mario or I know and we will get them added to your account.
Dinopocalypse #1
Dinopocalypse #1 has 4 stories written, drawn, and inked by 4 amazing RTG members. Roberto Martinez wrote his story as a survival manual in this world. Bob Parks drew and inked Roberto's story. Jack Dudley’s story was written and drawn by him and tells a story about his wife and himself in this Dinopocalyptic Colorado. Bob Parks story was written and drawn by him and his 5 pages are a day in the life of Bob with a pesky dinosaur. Kristina Bad Hand wrote and drew her story and she tells the story of her traveling back to Colorado with her cat and has a unwanted encounter.
Dinopocalypse #2
Volume 2 is the continuation of Dinopocalypse with 4 more members’ stories of themselves in this dino-infested Colorado. Wynn Greene wrote and drew his story that is connected to Kristina Bad Hand’s story from issue #1. In this story Wynn finds himself a bike while scavenging. Joe Oliver wrote and drew his story about how this world has changed but probably never really changed. Gareth Kensak wrote his story with Nate Hamel and Andrew Marek. His story is about Gareth trying to find someone threw interrogation. Garuda Illo wrote and drew his story and shows us a day that he left his base of operations to scout the area with his trusty falcon and finds a civilian in need of help.
We are still taking orders for the Francesco Francavilla "Wanted" poster Mile High Comics variant covers to the new issues of Star Wars. If you have any questions, you can
contact Mario or myself
and we will do all we can to help.
