Steep Discount Sale All Comics, Trade Paperbacks, and Comics Hardback Collections Howdy! Chuck on the Roof at our Jason Street Warehouse It rained a little at our Jason St. Mega-Store location on Saturday afternoon. Not much rain fell, but it lasted just long enough to test the new seams of caulk that we applied last week to the bases of the 50+ skylights that help to illuminate our huge new building. Not a single drop of water came into the building, which made us very, very happy. We can now concentrate all of our efforts our the 56th Ave. roof, which needs a lots of work. That effort is going to take a lot longer than simple caulking, but the weather folks predict an entire week of good weather, so we should be able to get the job done. In case you are wondering, we are doing all of this roofing work as an addition to our already very busy schedule of adding even more comics and books into our online inventory for you. I try to help to accomplish this double effort by personally working long hours on evenings and weekends. On Friday evening, for example, I sorted out yet another 2,500 Marvel comics for Pam's inventory team to intentionally downgrade for you. On Saturday, I was able to shelve about 1,500 trade paperbacks and hardbacks (from past convention purchases...) that previously had been in storage on pallets. Sunday was spent selecting an additional 5,000 back issue comics for the $1 bins in Jason St., and then sweeping and organizing another corner of the building. If it seems to you sometimes like I am being pulled in all sorts of directions simultaneously, that is absolutely true. But the same can be said for almost every owner-operator of any small business. We all struggle with similar shortages of working capital and time, and we all have to carefully prioritize while also learning new skills every day. All of our effort comes to naught without the continuing support of our clients, however, so I want to take this moment to thank you sincerely for helping me to continue in the job that I have loved so much for the past 43 years.
