Half Price X-MEN, AVENGERS, SPIDER-MAN, more
Howdy!
My newsletter today is being written in Boise, Idaho, where I am representing Denver at the annual
Imperial Sovereign Gem Court of Idaho Coronation ceremony.
I have to admit that, after 44 years of dealing with all the extraordinary hassles that accompany
exhibiting at San Diego Comic-Con (on this same weekend), I would much, much rather be here with all
my drag queen friends than in San Diego. It is not that I love the world of comics and comics collecting
any less, but rather that SDCC has become such a tawdry devolvement from the incredibly beautiful comics
reality that it once manifested, that I truly no longer want any part of it. These days, I would much
rather attend a small local hotel show filled with actual comic book fans, than that dreadfully expensive
overblown hypefest constructed solely for the benefit of Hollywood. 'Nuff said.

Nanette sitting in the Garden
While you couldn't pay me to attend SDCC these days, our Operations Manager, Will Moulton, insisted that
we still honor our annual tradition of hosting a
great local sale
during the convention. If you live in
Colorado (or are visiting this weekend...) we will have the following great SANDIEGO discounts in effect
for you at
all three of our stores:

Mega Store Kids Section
*50% OFF Back Issue Comics & Magazines (Excludes $1.00 comics, blue sticker, and graded items)
*40% OFF Trade Paperbacks
*30% OFF Hardcovers
*30% OFF Statues & Busts
*30% OFF Toys & Apparel
*30% OFF Posters

Mega Store Ocean of Comics
If you cannot visit
our stores,
our website
is accepting 50% off SANDIEGO orders for most of our ten million
back issue comics and magazines
(we do not offer toys, statues, etc. online). Only new issues, a few variants, and our professionally-graded
comics are exempt from the 50% off SANDIEGO codeword discounts. The 50% off codeword does also apply, however,
to the vast number of great
Silver Age
and
Bronze Age
comics that Will and Pam have been adding into our
New-In-Stock
and
Premium New-In-Stock
links this week from the awesome
collections that I purchased in New York,
Pennsylvania, and Ohio last week. Enjoy!

Some older SPIDER-MAN comics that just came in
Speaking of buying comics collections, I want everyone to know that I am still traveling on a regular basis to
purchase collections at people's homes. This trip to Boise is my last drag queen trip until Labor Day (when I
will be attending Coronation in Anchorage, Alaska), but I will be in Santa Fe and Albuquerque for Indian Market
during the first three weeks of August. I will then be in Washington, D.C. for their Coronation September 8th,
Des Moines, Iowa September 22nd, and San Francisco September 29th. All of these trips are somewhat tentative
because of my constantly morphing plans, but if you have a collection that you might wish to show me in any
of these regions, please contact Pam Brandle via pamb@milehighcomics.com, and she will try to arrange a visit
from me to your home.

Some older DC & Indy comics that just came in
I will close today's newsletter with a quick encouragement to you to take another look at the astonishing breadth
of diversity in the comics offerings that we are currently showing on
our website,
and in our
Premium New-In-Stock
link. In my 48 years of selling comics, I cannot remember a time when we have been so remarkably successful at
being able to offer you so many great comics, all at one time. I am particularly proud to note that there are now
issue numbers of scarce older comics in
our website database
where we once were lucky when we had even a single
copy in stock, but now we can offer you your choice of selecting between 4-5 grades! Very cool.

Some SHIELD comics that just came in
My final thought in the matter is to mention that all of our new additions to
our website inventory
are not consignments, but rather comics where we have willingly taken on the risk of actually buying them with
our own precious working capital. We continue to invest in massive quantities of older comics whenever possible,
primarily because I have an unshakable belief in the future of comics, and of comics collecting. As anyone on my
staff can attest, my greatest ambition each day is to build up our inventory of awesome older comics even further,
so that we can always be there for you with that highly desirable issue that you have been needing for your
collection. Blessedly, progress continues to be made toward this goal, with more great collections arriving every
single day. Life is good!
Happy collecting!
