Local News - Mile High Comics is still OPEN! But, no Poker or Auction
Howdy!
I will begin today by letting you know that our huge
Mile High Comics Mega-Store on Jason St.
is still very much open for business. Truth be told, we are all resolved to keep our beautiful store
open unless we are forced to close due to a specific edict from our government. It is not that we are
unaware of the realities of our current health crisis, but rather that we think that our immense 45,000
square foot space is just about as safe of a place as anyone can find to ride out this particular storm.
If the lockdown comes, then we will obey the law, but in the meantime we are here to stay.
Chuck with our new life-size Slimer. (He just "floated" in the door today!)
Another important reason for us to stay open is that other entertainment venues cannot. With all museums,
theaters, and ski areas shut down, and students forced out of schools, our store is about the only fun
thing for many families to do to keep from going stir-crazy. We do recognize our responsibility to try
our best to keep everyone safe, however, which is why we are working to sanitize our public surfaces
multiple times throughout the day. We are also encouraging social distancing, which is actually really
easy in 45,000 square feet of space. We're only averaging about a dozen people in the store at any given
time, so keeping everyone apart is no problem at all.

That having been said, we had a discussion with
"Feeding Denver's Hungry"
founder, Jim Scharper, this morning, and reached the mutual conclusion to postpone both our FDH benefit
poker tournament and our FDH benefit comics and toys auction, both of which were supposed to take place
this Saturday. We'll reschedule just as soon as the peak of virus infections has passed. In the meantime,
however, please do bring by any spare canned goods you might have so that we can distribute them to the
thousands of Denver's elderly, disabled, and economically challenged served by Feeding Denver's Hungry.
The need is intense right now, but (sadly) food donations to
the Food Bank of the Rockies
are way down.
Just saying...
Books Area in our Mega Store
I will close with a quick mention that we want to help you to build a stockpile of
great comics
and
comics collections
to read during our possible impending lockdown, so we have an incredible 65% off sale in effect for you
right now on nearly all of our ten million+
back issues,
while all of our
graphic novels, trade paperbacks, and comics hardcover collections
are only half price! We also are selling all of our toys, Funko figures, posters, t-shirts, and statues
under a buy one - get one at 50% off program. Truly, if you run out if great things to read over the next
month, the onus will most certainly not be upon us. The deals that we are offering everyone right now are
truly wonderful!

Happy collecting!
