Free Marvel Comics Essentials Trade Paperbacks and DC Showcase Books
Howdy!
I am packing my suitcase this morning, as I am leaving on yet another comics buying trip this afternoon. In all honesty, I really do not want to leave Colorado right now, as we are still right in the middle of several major projects at Mile High Comics. But one of the collections that I am going to see is a single-owner collection of 30,000 back issue Marvel comics, supposedly containing one VF/NM copy of each issue. The seller is a prominent East Coast dealer who purchased the collection from the original owner three weeks ago, and stripped out the $100+ issues for his own convention stock. He does not deal in long runs of lesser-priced titles, however, so he offer to "flip" the vast majority of this wonderful collection to me at cost. But, only if I could close the deal by Wednesday. Sigh. I am landing in Newark tonight, at midnight...
The good news is that we really do need those 30,000 Marvel comics. Despite our having added tens of thousands more back issues into our online comics inventory over the past few weeks, we are still having a hard time keeping outages from occurring on some titles. It isn't that we do not keep improving our overall selection, as we most certainly have been quite successful in that regard. But trying to stock ALL of the overwhelming number of different comics titles published during just the past fifty years is an epic struggle, one in which I sometimes feel that I will never succeed. Especially when I am having to fund my efforts by essentially giving away a great many of our coolest comics through our steep discount codeword sales.
All of the above having been said, I want you to know that I have to rely completely on your support of our codeword sales to keep going in my efforts. Simply put, without the support that we have already received on our current 30% off SUNSHINE sale, I would have no working capital at all available for even making an offer on this new collection. While sacrificing even our rarest
Golden Age,
Silver Age, and
Bronze Age
comics at steep discounts is painful, I take pragmatic solace in the fact that the resulting working capital allows us to eventually stock even more comics for you.
Your ongoing support is critical to this process, however, so I hope that you can consider placing at least a small 30% off SUNSHINE order with us this week. I have yet another major collection that I will be looking at during this East Coast trip, and Mega-Con (in Orlando) is coming up next week. I normally go to Mega-Con every single year, but I just do not have the funding in place right now to pay for me to buy two major collections, and then also buy comics at Mega-Con. Not unless, of course, we can first turn over some of the 150,000+ comics that I already purchased in January and February, during my earlier trips to Texas and New York.
That having been said, I am asking Lynne to provide you with quick links below to some of the titles in which we have added the most stock over the past four weeks. Our
New-In-Stock
listings are fantastic right now, so I am absolutely certain that we have some newly arrived comics and books in stock right now that you would love to add to your collection! Even better, all but the newest comics and books (from the past 6-9 months) are available to you right now at a full 30% off of list price, when you simply utilize the SUNSHINE codeword:
