Free STAR WARS and BOB'S BURGERS SDCC Variants
Howdy!
After 30 years of amazing
Mile High Comics
history, I signed a contract to sell our
56th Ave. headquarters building yesterday. Surprisingly, it did not sell to one of
our local marijuana growing operations, but rather to a gentleman whose business
had recently lost its own building to an imminent domain seizure. On many levels
that makes me feel better about the sale our beloved headquarters, as I would prefer
that our building go to help out another local small business person, just as it
helped to launch
Mile High Comics
into a new era of prosperity when I first purchased
it, way back in 1986. I have nothing against the pot growers, but having lost two
of our beautiful California Mega-Stores (Anaheim and Garden Grove) to imminent
domain actions, I am particularly sympathetic to this man's plight.

MILE HIGH 56th Ave. Warehouse
As regards what this building sale means for you, I can promise you that it will
lead to enormous improvements at
Mile High Comics.
For starters, combining our
headquarters in the same building as our
Jason St. Mega-Store
is going to reduce our
monthly operating costs by about $200,000 a year. Initially, we will need those
savings to help cover the costs of our move, and to also finally eliminate the last
of our pesky short term debt. Very soon thereafter, however, those wonderful savings
will be redirected into purchasing hundreds of private comics and book collections,
and toward paying for the labor required to add those choice collectibles into our
online listings. I promise you that we will be expanding our online offerings for
you enormously over the next twelve months!
Another factor that should please you very much is that our much lower operating
costs will also allow us to keep low prices in effect for you on tens of thousands
of back issues
listed on our
website
, including most of the comics that I will be
purchasing for you on my buying trips. Simply put, our
Jason St. Mega-Store
has
already been generating enough monthly operating income to cover all the costs of
maintaining our huge
Jason St.
building. For all practical purposes, that will
mean that our entire online operation will now have no monthly interest, rent, or
utilities costs to cover. That is great news for you, as I have every intention
of passing those savings on to you through lower base prices, and also by offering
you even more generous sales. I can't wait!
On a more somber note, we now need to pack up and transport the 6 million
back issues
stored in 56th, all of our shelving, and our offices. While everything will certainly
fit into our cavernous 65,000 square foot Mega-Store building, it is still going to
be a time-consuming and strenuous task. We have only 85 days to get this job done,
and it is going to be quite a challenge. I have already put out the word locally that
we are seeking to hire temporary staff to help with this move. If you know if anyone
living in the Denver area who might be willing to help us, have them apply in person
at our
Jason St. Mega-Store
Monday-Thursday, and Saturday. They should ask to speak
to the manager, Chris Lanham.
Moving on to news from our online business, our 40% off MILEHIGH2 codeword sale is
still in effect for you, and will probably be maintained for a while. As I mentioned
in Wednesday's newsletter, every
comic and magazine
that we can sell to you right
now is one at we don't have to move over to
Jason St.
That is precisely why I am
letting so many of our best
back issues
sell for
$2, or less,
right now. Please do
enjoy the MILEHIGH2 codeword with our sincere thanks for your support of
Mile High Comics.

Some Comics from the pre-1960's collection
On a related note, while the MILEHIGH2 codeword is great for buying thousands of
different comics from us for
$2, or less,
it also drops the price on all of our older
comics by a full 40% off. That is particularly nice when, like we did yesterday, we
score a great
collection of 500+ pre-1960 comics!
Most of these older comics are
already remarkable bargains, as they are in lower grades, but when the additional
40% MILEHIGH2 discount is also applied, they end up being ridiculously inexpensive.
We only have one copy each of the issues pictured, however, so I highly recommend
your visiting our
New-In-Stock link
right away. Even more issues from this
one cool collection
will be offered in Saturday morning's
New-In-Stock link...

BOB'S BURGERS (2015) #1 SDCC
I will close today's newsletter with a surprise free comic book offer from last
year's San Diego Comic-Con. To explain, I was prowling through the closed off area in
the back of the
Mega-Store
this morning where we store all of our convention material.
This area will need to be eliminated soon, so I checked out a small stack of boxes that
had been set under one of our con signs. To my amazement, one of those hidden boxes
contained 50 copies of the ultra-scarce
BOB'S BURGERS #1 SDCC variant!
We had thought
that we had completely sold out of that highly desirable cult favorite, with no copies
being listed as available on our
website
for months. Upon finding them I immediately
asked Will to put 20 copies on the system for sale, and to go ahead and release the rest
as a free bonus item for anyone willing to place minimum $40 order this weekend. Good luck
on scoring one of these, as the people who want these REALLY want them. Limit one copy
per person, please.
Happy Collecting!

STAR WARS: LANDO (2015) #1 SDCC

DARTH VADER (2015) #7 SDCC
P.S. In that same awesome carton from the convention I also found 50 copies each of The
SDCC LANDO #1 variant,
and the
SDCC DARTH VADER #7 variant.
I can offer you the same $40 minimum order requirement for a free copy on each of these,
or you can request in the "notes" to receive all three SDCC variants as a bonus for
placing a minimum $100 order. Enjoy!
