Local News - Auction Saturday - Plus Private Collection of 5,500 Comics Howdy! I want to begin today by thanking everyone who has stopped by one of our Mile High Comics retail stores during this holiday season. Thanks to your kind support, our family's Christmas will be reasonably successful this year. We very much appreciate your patronage, and hope that your holiday celebrations bring you comfort and joy. With Christmas just three days away, our staff at Jason St. are working feverishly on preparing for our exceptionally large annual post-Christmas auction. This year's huge auction will be held beginning at 11:30 AM on Saturday morning, December 26th, and will feature an unprecedented selection of older comics, toys, statues, portfolios, original art, and other rare collectibles. Some of these items are coming from a few select collections that we just recently purchased, while several hundred will be derived from scarcities that we are unearthing while preparing to consolidate our two warehouses together. Many of the more unusual items will sell without reserve on Saturday at giveaway prices, so there will be some incredible bargains available for all who attend! Chuck with 5,500 NM/M Comics As a special addition to the auction, we will be unveiling on Saturday morning a huge estate collection consisting of over 5,500 individual NM/M issues. The man who owned this collection passed away suddenly last week, leaving his two kids only his comics collection as a patrimony. This sad circumstance inspired our Christmas spirit, so we agreed to purchase the collection at a substantial premium above its typical wholesale value, with our plan being to offer all the issues from this estate collection at half price! to anyone attending our Saturday morning auction. I estimate that there are over 1,000 comics in this one collection that are currently not represented in our inventory, so stopping by Jason St. on Saturday morning would definitely be worth your while... I will close by mentioning that all of our stores will close at 5 PM on Christmas Eve (Thursday - Dec. 24th) so that our staff can be with their families. Happy collecting!
