Marvel and DC Comics News

Howdy!

We are working exceptionally hard for you this week here at Mile High Comics. Our biggest ongoing task is continuing to identify comics at our Jason St. Mega-Store which are needed for our website inventory. Two of our best staff members will be poring over inventory printouts all day today, and if Monday's success is any indicator, we should be able to locate over 1,000 more critically-needed comics to add to our website by the end of the day.

Another major project we're undertaking for you is to finish receiving and shelving the 3,000+ Marvel and DC trade paperbacks and hardbacks that we ordered for this year's holiday season. Some of those books have already been processed, and a surprisingly large number of them sold over this past weekend. That having been said, we have well over 1,000 more trade paperback and hard back books still in the pipeline, so our work is far from done. We also purchased multiple copies on all of the titles we were selling last weekend, so none of the books that we ordered for Christmas have sold out, at least as of this morning. With our 30% - 50% off Black Friday book discounts still posted right to our website, however, I do think that we may soon run short on a few of those titles over this next week.

Speaking of discounts, our annual 50% Off BLACKFRIDAY codeword sale remains in effect for you on almost all ten million of our back issue comics and magazines. Only new comics a few variants, and our CGC-graded comics are excluded from this very generous codeword sale.

As an aside, I thought that it might interest you to know that this year's online BLACKFRIDAY comics and magazine sale has turned out to be an exceptionally successful back issue comics promotion for us. It appears from our strong response that many more people are collecting comics right now, than ever before. This does make restocking a bit difficult for us, however, as the average print run on new comics today is far lower today than it was a decade ago. Don't be surprised if this increase in demand soon results in some slightly higher list prices, especially for desirable titles, and also a trend toward fewer steep discount codewords in the future.

My only other news items for today are a couple of free giveaway offers. First, Marvel has finally moved to fully integrate Neil Gaiman's Angela character into their universe by declaring her to be Thor's long-lost sister. This story is told in Original Sin (2014) #5.1 - 5.5 You can obtain a copy of the regular edition of Angela: Asgard's Assassin (2014) #1 free as a bonus for any $40 order placed with us, or the Young Baby edition free for any minimum $75 order. Both can be received as a reward for a $100 order. Please do remember, however, that these minimum order requirements are based upon the net of your order, after all discounts.

My second free giveaway offer is any one of the following three books free as a Bonus Book reward for placing a minimum $40 order, or all three for a minimum $100 order.

To qualify for our free items, you must meet separate minimums for each. That being the case, a minimum $200 net order will qualify to receive both of the two ANGELA comics, and also all three of the books. Let us know in the "notes" section of our online order form as to which of our Bonus items you would like. All other considerations aside, we are very happy to be the only comics company on the Internet both willing, and able, to provide you with so many free comics and books...

Happy Collecting!

P.S. DC Comics announced yesterday the line-up for the upcoming SUICIDE SQUAD feature film. The initial responses that I read on FaceBook from long-time DC fans were very positive and enthusiastic!

DC's Suicide Squad Movie

The film will star Oscar winner Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club, Alexander) as the Joker; Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street, Focus) as Harley Quinn; two-time Oscar nominee Will Smith (The Pursuit of Happyness, Ali) as Deadshot; Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises, upcoming Mad Max: Fury Road) as Rick Flagg; Jai Courtney (Divergent, The Water Diviner) as Boomerang; and Cara Delevingne (Anna Karenina, upcoming Pan) as Enchantress.
