Free Comics A-BABIES VS X-BABIES #1 Variant Editions Howdy! West Side of Roof with Liner The blast of wintry weather that was predicted to hit Denver this week arrived exactly on time. By the end of the day on Wednesday, it was raining steadily, and by Thursday morning, we awoke in Boulder to four inches of snow. Brrr... The good news is that we were able to renovate the west side of the roof of our main 56th Ave. warehouse just in time, thus completely eliminating all of the annoying leaks in that area that have plagued us for the past decade. Flat concrete roofs are sturdy, but when their seams start to leak, only a complete relining of the entire surface with a rubberized membrane will solve the problems. Blessedly, those roof liners have a projected life of 30-35 years... Pam - Head Buyer While we have been working hard to renovate and winterize our two huge warehouses this week, we have also been sorting comics and books in vast quantities. Our grading output should actually increase next week, so I now feel comfortable again in mentioning that we have quite an active comics buying program in effect. Our head buyer, Pam Brandle, has been buying comics collections steadily over this entire year, but now that our very busy December-May season is approaching, she wants to buy even more. In other news, we will be giving away limited quantities of our HALLOWEENFEST 2012 comics at all four of our Denver-area stores on Saturday. Pam just sent me a text letting me know that she just purchased a collection containing quite a few British "Pence" variant editions of older Marvel Silver and Bronze Age comics. These approximately 1:20 variants from the 1960's and 1970's have become increasingly popular.
