Local News - Poker Tournament This Weekend - Pro Wrestling Next Weekend I am writing today primarily to let you know about two exciting upcoming events at Mile High Comics - Jason St. Before I get into the details of those upcoming events, however, I also wanted to let you know that we have been adding an astonishing number of great back issues into all three of our Denver-area retail stores over the past four weeks. Not only have we purchased tens of thousands of comics, books, magazines, toys, and statues at our Jason St. Mega-Store, but we also have been generously sharing Jason's bounties with Aaron over at Colorado Blvd., and David in Lakewood. Suffice it to say, if you have not visited your favorite Mile High Comics store lately, it might really be in your best interest to do so ASAP. We have a stunning number of rare collectibles in stock right now... Ocean of comics As regards our upcoming events, this Saturday morning at 11 AM is the date and time of our exciting monthly Charity Texas Hold'em poker tournament. This month's tournament should be especially well-attended, as it is being held for the Matthew Shepard Foundation, which lobbies for LGBTQ acceptance. Anthony Aragon, who works in the Denver Mayor's office, suggested this fine organization to us, and will be hosting a special dinner here in Denver for Matthew's parents on 12th. Anthony is also bringing 6 of his friends to play, so Saturday's game should be particularly exciting! Poker Flyer Please note that we are urging everyone to register in advance for this tournament, as we have a limited number of volunteer dealers for this game. If you wait until the day of the game, you may be placed on a waiting list. We do accept registrations at all stores over the phone. Also, playing in our tournaments, is essentially free for those who register in advance, as your $25 entry fee is immediately offset by your receiving a $25 gift certificate valid at any Mile High Comics location. Those who wait to register on the day of the game do not receive a certificate, so register early! Wrestling Flyer Our second awesome event is Professional Wresting at Mile High Comics! This event will be held a week from Saturday (September 30th) at 5:30 PM. Those professional wrestling guys get really wild and crazy, so bring the kids for an evening of high energy and sass!
