DEATH OF WOLVERINE Sets Still Available For Free

Howdy!

Today's newsletter is going out a bit later than usual, as I spent the entire morning continuing a job that I began yesterday, which involved disassembling a large section of shelving in our Boulder warehouse. We have been using that special 7-foot tall shelving for storage of odds and ends, which was a complete waste, as it is exactly the size that is best suited for storing our trade paperbacks and hardbacks. Given that we are just about to run out of shelving space for books in the warehouse area of our Jason St. Mega-Store, moving this large section of steel shelving back to Denver was quite important.

Book Shelving

In case you are wondering why I am telling you about this seeming mundane task, our being well-organized and efficient with our storage is critical to our ability to provide you with great service and low prices. Simply put, our future in the back issue comics business is almost entirely dependent upon our being able to offer you hundreds of thousands of purchasing options on any given day. After so many decades of comics (and books) being published in vast quantities, however, the number of back issues that we have to stock in any given day to fulfill that promise to exceeds 200,000 different issues. Stocking that many issues is very, very space-intensive.

Comics Shelving

To explain a bit further, consider for a moment that we own three warehouse buildings, containing a total of 90,000 square feet of storage space. All three of those facilities are now close to 100% utilization, and it is only by carefully allocating specific types of storage shelving that we have any remaining room to expand. This space issue affects you directly, because only reason why we can consistently offer you such great back issue prices is because Colorado is a relatively low cost rental state. If we were having to pay New York or California warehouse rents, I will guarantee you that we would have to price all of our comics significantly higher. Blessedly, however, I was able to buy our massive 60,000+ square foot Jason St. facility at an insanely low price three years ago, so we are set for expansion room for the time being. As long as we are not wasteful...

Silver Age Comics

Moving on to news from our back issue department, Pam purchased a wonderful collection of high grade Silver Age comics last week. She has been adding the best issues from a variety of titles, starting with SPIDER-MAN (1963) and X-MEN (1963). Check out our New-In-Stock and Premium New-In-Stock links each day for even more titles. I think that she was planning on working on HULK and IRON MAN next.

More Silver Age Comics

When you do find issues that you would like to add into your collection, don't forget to utilize our ongoing MORECOMICS! codeword to reduce the cost of almost all of your back issue comics and magazine purchases by a full 40% off of list price. Only new issues, a few variants, and our CGC-grades comics are exempt from the 40% off provided by MORECOMICS!
