All Comics On Sale - New Codeword In Effect

Howdy!

Our brand new 30% off AWESOME! codeword sale on our back issue comics and magazines is gaining momentum, primarily because so many of our satisfied clients are sharing the news of our exceptionally low comics prices all around the Internet. Only new comics, books, our CGC issues, and a few variants are excluded from this huge sale.

The immediate success of our AWESOME! sale makes me very happy, as it will help allow me to fund the final improvements in our newly-created comics inventory management. To explain, we have had several visitors to our main warehouse recently who have noticed that we have radically rearranged and streamlined how we store (and ship...) our immense inventory of back issue comics. Comics that were once in massive alpha-numeric arrays (by publisher) are now stored in an entirely different fashion, with all of the titles and issue numbers seemingly randomly mixed together. While seemingly nonsensical, these new methods have actually allowed us to slash our inventory and fulfilment labor costs. In large part, it was these savings that then allowed us to cut all of our website comics prices for you in April.

Pam with Pallets of Comics!

In case you are wondering, implementing these innovations became critical about five years ago, as the ever-expanding number of comics titles and issue numbers released by the publishers each week finally overwhelmed the capacity of the alpha-numeric physical systems that we had in place. Simply put, we frequently became gridlocked when trying to integrate new collections into our warehouse stock because our legacy inventory systems were not designed for tens of thousands of titles and hundreds of thousands of different issues.

While we were certainly not alone in being affected by this deluge in new publications, we were (to the best of my knowledge...) the only back issue comics retailer who resolved to continue to carry a full line of back issues. That decision did require, however, that we completely alter all of our entire inventory prototcols in order to somehow maintain our ability to continue to carry that full line of all comics titles.

While changing all of our systems sounds great in principal, I have to tell you that my decision created an almost overwhelming burden upon us, as we have been working almost non-stop for these past five years to install those entirely new procedures for sorting and storing our comics. This required reworking all of our warehouse shelving, then reshelving and auditing over six million bulk comics, re-labeling 2.3 million individual issues, all the while keeping our order fulfilment up to Internet standards. This task has been so difficult that I try to explain it to our visitors by drawing a corollary with trying to paint a bus while it is operating at 60 MPH. Suffice it to say, the past five years have been a challenge.

Where we are today is that our new inventory systems are beginning to gush forth vast numbers of back issue comics that are precisely the titles and issue numbers that we need to fill the numerous holes in our website. We have well over one million unsorted comics that accumulated during the time that we were rebuilding, and those oftentimes highly desirable comics are now being sorted at the rate of 30,000 comics per week! Visit our New-In-Stock link for the last week, and you will see a great many comics being entered that have been out-of-stock on our website for a very long time. While those issues may not be ones that you collect, the operative point here is that our comics sorting machine is now completely fixed, and over time, we should hit every single title published. This makes me very, very happy.

I will close by thanking those of you who have already placed an order with us via the AWESOME! codeword sale. I genuinely hope that you enjoy the wonderfully low prices that we can now offer you, and also hope that I have been able to provide you with a bit more clarity about just how important your patronage is to everyone who works at Mile High Comics. Thank you for assisting us in our five-year goal of reaching this new era in our company history.

Happy Collecting!
