Howdy!

Today would normally be the day that we would be hustling like crazy to get our booth set up at the San Diego Comic-Con, with the Preview Night crowds being allowed in the building at 6 PM. As those of you who have watched me in Morgan Spurlock's epic Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope documentary are well aware, the stress that accompanied setting up our ten booths for a San Diego Comic-Con was mind-blowing, with (literally) hundreds of things having to go right in order for us to have a successful show. Two years ago, my insane act of dancing on a high wire finally became just too much for me to bear, so I gave up on Comic-Con, forever. In all honesty, leaving that awful stress behind was one of the best decisions that I have ever made.

Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope

All of the above having been said, I do take great pride in the fact that all the time and energy that we used to put into Comic-Con has now been redirected into a program of continually improving our Jason St. Mega- Store. The net result of our efforts over the past eight years has been amazing, with our huge Jason St. store now having grown into a nationwide "bucket list" destination for comics fans of all ages. With 65,000 square feet of space crammed to the rafters with over ten million comic books, graphic novels, trade paperbacks, comics hardbacks, statues, action figures, and much, much more, Jason St. now earns more for us in a day, than our setting up at San Diego typically did for us for an entire show! Quite frankly, deciding to give up on SDCC was a long-overdue decision that should have been made years earlier. While I loved being able to see all my friends from the comics world, the headaches of setting up far outweighed the (meagre) benefits. That is why I do not miss Comic-Con in the slightest.

GROO THE WANDERER #120

While we are not set up at this year's convention, I am continuing our mid-Summer tradition of hosting our annual 50% off SANDIEGO codeword sale on all of our back issue comics and magazines. This codeword sale includes almost all of the wonderful comics that Will and Pam just added into our Premium New-In-Stock and New-In-Stock links from my most recent New York buying trip. Only new issues, a few variants, and our professionally-graded comics are excluded from this awesome codeword sale. Enjoy!

MS. MARVEL (1977) #1

That's it for today. I am leaving extra room at the end of my newsletter for Will to put up photos of a few of the comics that he just added into our website inventory. I was truly blessed on this last trip to pick up some wonderful comics!

Happy collecting!
