Howdy! Our head buyer, Will Moulton, just purchased another nice collection of Silver Age comics this afternoon. That small grouping simply adds to the amazing plethora of great comics that have been walking in the door of Jason St. over the past couple of months. I mention this for you because it gives an easy explanation for why our overall comics selection on our website keeps growing, and why sales here at Jason are up a staggering 50%! over the first ten days of July of last year. We sincerely thank everyone who has supported us during this period of rapid growth. I promise you that we will continue to work hard to do an even better job for you in the days to come.
In other news, our exclusive Mile High Comics STAR WARS (2015) #33 arrived last week. Because of Denver Comic-Con, we missed announcing it's impending release, so I am going to offer you an opportunity (through Friday, only) to still pick up a copy for only our $19.95 preorder price. This is from our continuing unbroken string of exclusive STAR WARS variants.
Speaking of STAR WARS (2015), I did want to quickly make note of the fact that our back issues of all the recent Marvel STAR WARS titles have picked up over the past 60 days. We have batted about quite a few theories as to why this is the case, with mine being that a great many smaller comics dealers picked up on extra copies of the early STAR WARS issues, but then foolishly listed them at (or near) cover price until they suddenly found themselves entirely sold out, with no way to restock.
So you know, our purchasing and sales strategy on early Marvel STAR WARS issues was quite the opposite, right from the beginning. We purchased very heavily in the first year on all of the issues, with a special emphasis on picking up quantities of the very low print run later printings of all the early issues. Fans who are now seeking to build complete sets of all of those early Marvel STAR WARS variants are finding many to be quite scarce (especially 3rd, 4th, and 5th printings), and sometimes completely unavailable except through our website.
In a nutshell, that is why I believe that our sales on STAR WARS, DARTH VADER, PRINCESS LEIA, KANAN, SCREAMING CITADEL, and DOCTOR APHRA are now blowing up. Our supplies are still holding up OK, but don't be surprised if we need to start raising prices for selected STAR WARS issues in the near future. Especially on those issues where our recent hailstorm caused some of our copies to be water-damaged.
As regards our current 30% off VACATION! discount codeword, it has been quite popular. If you place a back issue comics and/or magazine order with us this week, please remember to type VACATION! Into the "Discount Codeword" line provided on our online order form. Our computer will then automatically deduct a full 30% from you cost of all qualifying items in your order. All ten million of our back issues are included, including most issues that we just listed in New-in-Stock and Premium New-In-Stock. Only new issues, a few variants, and our slabbed issues are excluded.
