Howdy!
I am quite weary this morning, but also feeling remarkably elated! The reason for my
abundance of happiness is that our good friend, and part time
Mile High Comics
staff
member, Norrie Reynolds, became the 43rd elected Empress of the
Imperial Court of the Rocky Mountain Empire
on Saturday evening. Thanks to the wholehearted support of our Mile High Comics family
here in Denver the election was not even close, with Norrie winning by 200+ votes. I sincerely
thank everyone who turned out to vote for Norrie a week ago Saturday. You have helped a truly
beautiful person to achieve her most cherished dream.

I was also honored on Saturday evening, as I officially completed my one-year appointment as
Prince Royale 42 of the
ICRME.
By managing to make it through the entire year, I qualified to
be made a "permanent" member of the organization by my Emperor, Richard Brendlinger. What this
means is that I now have a lifetime title as Prince Royale 42, and can officially represent
Denver at any Court function in the United States, Canada, or Mexico. There have only been about
150 ICRME members made permanent during the 43 years that the Court has been in existence (half
of whom have since passed away...), so this is quite an honor.

While achieving personal honors is nice, not to be forgotten is the fact that being an officer of
any charitable organization comes with the implied obligation of serving the charities that depend
upon us for desperately needed operating capital. Once again thanks to the generosity of the wonderful
clients that we have here in Denver,
Mile High Comics
raised over $25,000.00 in donations over the past
twelve months for organizations as diverse as
Rainbow Alley,
Freedom Service Dogs,
Urban Peak,
White Rose Scholarships,
and the
Denver Rescue Mission.
Under the leadership of Her Most Imperial Majesty, Norrie Reynolds, and His Most Imperial Majesty, Manual
Sexton, we plan to try and exceed last year's prodigious total over the next twelve months.

So you know, our first major
ICRME
charity event of Norrie and Manny's reign will be Free Comic Book Day,
which will be held on May 7th. We are still in the planning stages on our offers for this fun day, but I
promise everyone who reads this newsletter that we are going to try and create a mechanism by which you
will be excited to contribute to the chosen charity. I'll let you know more just as soon as I have my
first strategy session with our newly-elected Monarchs. Helping others who are in need is hard work, but
it can also be fun!
Tim O'Conner
A final note on our Coronation weekend is about a very prestigious ICRME award that I was allowed to give
to a member of our
Mile High Comics
community. Those of you who attend our Denver comics and toy auctions
are well aware that Tim O'Conner is often to be found in the front row, bidding on all manner of collectibles.
What is less known is that Tim has also been our most generous individual contributor to our charities, quietly
slipping me hundreds of dollars in cash contributions to make Christmas brighter for the kids helped by
Rainbow Alley,
giving generously to the
White Rose Scholarships Fund,
as well as numerous gifts of clothing and food for our homeless citizens. As Prince Royale, I was allowed by
our Board of Directors to bestow the annual "Buddy" award upon one individual whom I felt best epitomized the
kindness and generosity of spirit of our Community. This award typically goes to an active member of the
ICRME,
but I chose to reach outside of our organization and present it to Tim O'Conner. He is a truly wonderful human being.
Moving on to comics news, we had a huge weekend for sales on our
website.
I believe that this outpouring in
orders was directly attributable to the release of the BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN movie. While reviews have been mixed,
there has most certainly been an uptick in demand for older
DC comics
of all kinds. Just saying...
As regards current promotions, I need to start laying out a lot of cash this week on trucks and temporary workers.
With our CORONATION promotion now behind us, I have decided to follow it up with a 50% off TRUCKLOAD! codeword sale.
This sale applies to all of our
back issue comics and magazines,
excluding only new issues, a few variants, and our
CGC-graded issues. Please do allow a week for us to process your order, as we are still catching up from being shut
down during last week's blizzard.
My final item for today is a free giveaway of three
Silver Age

purchased the
Mile High II collection
in 1985, and have had stashed away ever since. We only have 30 of each to give
away, so please place your qualifying order right away.
Please bear in mind that you must qualify for all free items separately, and that all minimums must be met
after your 50% off TRUCKLOAD! discount is applied.
