STAR WARS #2 Sells Out
Half Price Sale Begins

Howdy!

The past 30 hours have been more than a bit frenetic here at Mile High Comics. For starters, STAR WARS (2015) #2 released yesterday morning, and sold out at all of our stores by mid-day today, even though we had sent extra copies to all of our stores. Also selling out yesterday (within just 90 minutes!) were all of our store copies of the ultra-scarce STAR WARS (2015) #1 second printing variant. We have been doling out more copies of the #1 variant to our stores at the rate of five copies at a time, but with the vast majority of comics retailers in the world having missed out on ordering them, those second printing variants are just on fire.

Star Wars #2

So you know, if you have not yet ordered your second printing STAR WARS (2015) #1 variant from us, you only have one day left to do so at $25. We have actually already sold through our entire allotment that I had scheduled to let go at that price, but I am holding off for an extra day before raising the price in order to give everyone fair warning. As of Saturday morning at noon, however, our price on the second printing will need to rise to $30, and it may go higher still by Monday. With an estimated print run of fewer than 100,000 copies, the second printing variant of STAR WARS (2015) #1 is definitely going to be a very hard-to-find key issue for future collectors of Star Wars comics...

Star Wars #2 Mile High

Also sold out at this point are all of our investment packs of DARTH VADER (2015) #1. We do still have single issues available right now on our website at only $1 over cover, but I will be revisiting that price next Monday. Simply put, DARTH VADER (2015) #1 releases next Wednesday, and with a print run of only 30% of STAR WARS (2015) #1, I think this second ongoing Star Wars title is also going to sell out very quickly. While I now personally have over 2,000 copies of this title on order, I have no intention of letting my copies disappear. If you have not already done so, I highly encourage you to place an advance order with us for DARTH VADER (2015) #1 right away. If you don't, I think that you will be kicking yourself a year from now.

Star Wars #1 2nd Print

I now want to digress for a moment, and toss out the thought I believe that what we are experiencing right now is nothing less than the birth of an entirely new comic book company. While all of the new Star Wars titles are being released under the Marvel imprint, we have been given very strong indications that Marvel (or more importantly, Disney/LucasFilms) is intending to keep the Star Wars line of titles completely independent from the Marvel Universe. Star Wars titles will most certainly be tied into each other, but not to any external titles. As such, STAR WARS (2015) #1 is effectively the FANTASTIC FOUR #1 of this new comic book company, with the original Marvel STAR WARS (1977) #1 thus being the equivalent of a Golden Age Timely Comics title, such as MARVEL COMICS (1939) #1.

Star Wars #1 Mile High

If you doubt the validity of my comparison with the beginnings of the Marvel Universe, consider for a moment just how many different Star Wars comics titles that will be released during just the next five years. Disney and LucasFilms have, after all, already announced that there will be a brand new Star Wars movie every single Christmas season for each the next five years! I am of the personal opinion that what we are seeing right now is the dawn of an entirely new era in comics history. As such, I think that all of the Marvel Star Wars titles being released of over the next several months are all going to be intensely collectible.

Darth Vader #1 Regular

In a nutshell, that is why I have already personally committed to purchase over $100,000 in Marvel Star Wars comics from Marvel over the next 180 days, and also why I am adamantly refusing to let our few remaining copies of those Star Wars comics that have already been released sell completely out. In all honesty, if you think prices for Star Wars comics are high today, just wait and see what they are in December, when the STAR WARS EPISODE 7 releases in the theaters. 'Nuff said.

My only other news for today is to announce that our new 50% off HALFPRICE! codeword comics sale is now in effect for you on ten million of our back issue comics and magazines. Only books, new comics, a few varaints, and our CGC-graded comics are excluded from the HALFPRICE! sale. In spite of all the furor about the Star Wars titles, Will and Pam have continued to add thousands of great comics for you into our New-In-Stock and Premium New-In-Stock links. Please do enjoy being able to shop through our entire website at half price, with our sincere thanks for your continuing support of our company.

Happy Collecting!

P.S. Our Mile High Comics exclusive variant editions of STAR WARS (2015) #1 will be priced at $49.95 as of Saturday morning, at noon. Even though they just released yesterday, our Mile High Comics exclusive variant edition of STAR WARS (2015) #2 will be priced at $34.95. These newly revised prices will not hold for long, however, as our remaining supplies of our variants continue to melt away at an alarming rate. Contributing to this intense demand for our variants is the fact that we turned out to be (at least as far as we know right now...) the ONLY comics retailer who commissioned an exclusive variant of STAR WARS (2015) #2! Our variant print run of 3,000 copies worldwide now seems absurdly low, which may explain why all the copies we list keep blowing out so quickly on eBay...
