Half Price Sale on Marvel Comics Hardbacks
Howdy!
Today's newsletter is being written in central Long Island, New York. My comics buying assistant, Ashley, and I are preparing to head over to the nearby Hot Flips Comics and Cards Supplies warehouse, in Farmingdale, NY. Charles and Jeffrey Cerritto, the owners of Hot Flips, have allowed us to use a small corner of their warehouse for the past couple of years as a staging area for our East Coast comics purchases.
That storage space in the Hot Flips warehouse is critical to our buying efforts, as our goal during each of our East Coast buying trips is to purchase a total of about 120,000 comics. Simply put, that is the quantity of back issues (eight full pallets...) that it takes for us to be able to best cost-justify sending a truck shipment back to Denver. As I'm sure that you can well imagine, however, that many comics take up quite a bit of storage space, so we are very, very grateful to Charles and Jeffrey for helping us out.
Chuck and Ashley with 30,000 Comics!
|
While Ashley (who now lives in San Francisco, and works in a spa as a full time licensed masseuse...) and I have only been reunited as a team in New York for a few hours, we have already purchased 30,000 (!) comics from a vast single-owner collection. This one great comics deal consists of complete runs of practically every single
Marvel and
DC
Comics title published during the past 30 years, most in excellent NM condition. I can't even begin to list all of the titles for you, but suffice it to say that
SPIDER-MAN,
X-MEN,
BATMAN,
AVENGERS,
IRON MAN,
DAREDEVIL,
THOR,
WONDER WOMAN,
FLASH,
HULK,
GREEN LANTERN,
DEADPOOL,
FANTASTIC FOUR,
JLA,
CONAN, and
WALKING DEAD
were just the beginning. As the accompanying photo clearly shows, we filled our large cargo van right up to the ceiling...
While these comics that we just purchased in New York still need to be shipped back to Denver, the vast numbers of great back issues and new comics that I purchased in Dallas two weeks ago, and Indianapolis last week, are now available for you on our website. Pam's inventory crew has been working especially hard to grade and enter all 60,000 comics from those two earlier collections into our
New-In-Stock and
Premium New-In-Stock
links for you. Please do enjoy these great comics with our sincere thanks for your support, and don't forget to type "HOLIDAY" into the discount box on our order form so you can receive the 30% off codeword discount.
Aside from all of the Marvel and DC titles that I mentioned earlier, I did want to mention that my Dallas deal also contained over 5,000 older comics from
Golden Age,
Silver Age, and
Bronze Age
publishers, such as
ARCHIE,
CHARLTON,
DELL,
FAWCETT,
GOLD KEY,
HARVEY,
TOWER,
and other rare publishers too numerous to mention. In most instances, however, we were able to obtain only one copy of each on these pre-1980 comics, so please if you see issues that you would like to add to your collection, please do place an order with us right away.
Moving on to other news, I wanted to let you know that we were just able to obtain a special deal on a limited number of
25 different highly desirable MARVEL MASTERWORKS hardback editions.
Because we moved very quickly and made an especially large purchase, we can offer you all 25 of these great MARVEL MASTERWORKS books over this upcoming weekend (only...) at half of cover price! This was a special one-time deal, so no restock is available to us. Most of these books are now apparently being allowed to go out-of-print by Marvel. Need I say more?
I will close today's newsletter by letting you know that we have only 20 copies each left available of the
SAVAGE WOLVERINE #1 BLANK COVER EDITION and
SAVAGE WOLVERINE #1 YOUNG BABY COVER EDITION
variants available through our free comics program. If you would like to obtain one for free, (quickly) place any minimum $50 order with us, and then ask for your choice of the free variants in the "notes" section of our online order form. You can ask for both free variants if your order (after taking into account your savings from the 30%off HOLIDAY codeword are taken into account...) totals a minimum of $75.
