Tintin in America started on September 3, 1931. In this book Herge wanted to show as much of America as possible, including deserts, prairie, cowboys, Indians, and the latest factories. Also in this book he uses the character Al Capone as the notorious gangster. In this adventure, Tintin is invited to Chicago to help police with the crime that is going out of hand. He has to face different dangers, which include facing the Red Indians. He has to face Chicago's two infamous kings of the underworld, Al Capone and Bobby Smith, who try to get rid of him in many different ways. But thanks to his cleverness and presence of mind, Tintin captures them and leads the police right to the headquarter of the Central Syndicate of Chicago Gangsters, widely known as " The Syndicate."
