Howdy!

After sinking ever-deeper into the abyss of illness over the past nine days, I am finally on the mend. To provide some context, I was so sick on Saturday that I tested myself for COVID and both Influenza A & B. Blessedly, all of my tests were negative. As near as we can guess right now, I seem to have some derivitive of RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) the ghastly upper respiratory illness that can easily knock you out of commission for weeks at a time, and (according to the CDC) causes upwards of 10,000 deaths each year among elderly Americans.

Not wanting to add to that chilling mortality statistic, I took myself out of the loop on Friday, and then spent three days doing nothing but resting (and nonstop coughing so deeply that it really hurt...). I am normally quite active, so to keep myself from going stir-crazy, I spent the entire three days of this weekend watching YouTube videos and reading books about the history and context of pre-contact Native American pottery. I currently own over 1,000 examples of indigenous pottery (mostly from the American Southwest) that was made prior to the arrival of Columbus in 1492, but there are so many thousands of different types that it requires a constancy of research for me to keep even slightly abreast of all the variations. So, in between coughing my lungs out, I studied.

That having been said, while I was out of commission, our Mile High Comics team was absolutely kicking butters. Our revenues over this past weekend were up by double-digits from the same time period last year, with similar gains being reflected from our online orders. That makes me feel really happy, as we all worked quite diligently to stock up both our Jason St. Mega-Store, and our website offerings, prior to the beginning of the holiday season. It's always nice when there is an apparent direct cause-and-effect between hard work and preparation, and the final results achieved. Yay!

That's it for today. I need to get back to drinking my peppermint tea with honey, studying a bit more. I'll leave you, however, with a couple of quick operational notes. First, for those of you who regularly visit Jason St., our Mega-Store will be open on New Year's Day. In point of fact, that has become one of our top-10 retail days of the entire year. Go figure...

Waiting to sell us a collection in January or February is a dreadfully bad decision, as we have the ability to pay considerably more when our cash flow is still robust, than when we are all huddled up, and simply trying not to freeze to death in the dark. I shall say no more....
