Mile High Comics Is Buying Even More Collections

Howdy!

After an absolutely frenetic weekend in our Mile High Comics Jason St. Mega-Store, today seems eerily quiet. We're actually still serving quite a few fans today, but relative to the hundreds of families that visited us each day on Friday-Monday, today seems downright calm. That is fine by all of us, as our in-store traffic this summer was truly unprecedented, so much so that all of us are ready for a little break just to catch up on all of the day-to-day tasks that had to be set aside while we were dealing with the summer rush. Truthfully, the September drop-off in sales used to be a month that filled us all with dread, but now we view it as a month that provides us with a much-needed breather. Whew.

Inside the Jason Street Mega-Store

While our in-store team is working on cleaning up after the summer rush, our online website fulfillment team remains in high gear, striving to ship as many of the 70% off TAXES! codeword orders as is humanly possible in any given day. Orders are continuing to arrive by the basket load from that very generous end-of-summer promotion, however, so while quite a few orders are already being shipped, our backlog continues to grow. Sigh.

Now that I have some benefit of hindsight, I realize that I really should have set the 70% Off TAXES! codeword to end today (9/2), but thinking originally that it would only engender a limited response, I set Tuesday 9/9 as the codeword termination. I will stick to that original date, but for those of you thinking of placing an order with us at 70% off during this week or weekend, please bear in mind that it is going to take several weeks for your order to ship. That having been said, our computer does "commit" items ordered right as an order is downloaded from the server, so barring an inventory blip (which does occasionally occur...) any comics you order at 70% off are guaranteed to still be in your order when it finally heads out the door. The discount remains at an absolutely unbelievable 70% off, but patience is definitely required. 'Nuff said.

That's it for today. I was planning to quietly work by myself in my pottery museum tomorrow, but I just found out from Will Moulton that I have to head out into the Denver suburbs tomorrow afternoon with my cargo van to pick up a huge private-owner toy collection. I really don't mind driving to pick up collections, except to the extent that my over-enthusiastic purchasing of rare Pueblo pottery during the past 60 days has made walking through the museum almost impossible. Additional shelving must (must!) be built in the museum, and I am the only manpower that I have...
