Huge Auction On Saturday 7/27
Howdy!
As a part of our expansion of our
Jason St. Mega-Store,
I just took an amazing walk down memory lane. To explain, after 13 years of great performances, we are finally dismantling
our beautiful stage that has long been located along the south wall of Mile High Comics. I sincerely wish that I could
have left our stage in place, but we desperately in need room to expand our incredibly popular Manga and Anime products
areas, so the stage simply had to go. Sigh.

Chuck digging through paperwork
That having been said, stored under the stage was an entire pallet of boxes filled with old Mile High Comics paperwork,
some of it dating all the way back to the mid-1980's. It was truly fascinating to look at all of those catalogs (and other
correspondence) from innumerable companies that are now long gone, and reside only in the dustbins of ancient memory.
Seeing tangible evidence of the incredible progression of attrition that so often changes our world profoundly is
eye-opening, to say the least. Suffice it to say, I am very grateful that we made it through all those decades filled
with innumerable perils.

As regards our other efforts, once we get the store expanded into the area which previous held the stage, we will then
begin dismantling other areas that no longer fit into our future. Our 40+ metal San Diego comic book bins are also going
to have to go, for example, as we need the space that they are occupying for storing additional pallets filled with old
comics. Given that we will never, ever, return to San Diego, letting them go only makes sense. We will offer those metal
bins to anyone who wants them for the bargain rate of $20 each, first-come, first served. If you live locally and would
like one (or more) talk to Will Moulton (moulton@milehighcomics.com) Monday-Friday 10-5. Each bin holds about 1,500 back issues.

In other news, our current 60% off SUMMER! codeword sale is surprising us by truly kicking butters. This goes
completely contrary to usual patterns where codewords go into periods of stasis at the conclusion of a large promotion.
Will and I discussed this unexpected surge in demand, and our theory is that people who received test orders filled with
our new "intentional downgrades" are so pleased with what they are receiving that they are turning around and immediately
placing reorders. Whatever the case may be, our currently online sales are running over double what we had projected. Thank you!

Auction on July 27th
My only other bit of news for today is that we are going to be hosting a fabulous no-minimum-bid "slabbed" comics and toys
auction in our
Jason St. Mega-Store
a week from Saturday (July 27th), beginning at 11:30 AM. Our last auction took in over $10,000, with about a quarter of
those funds coming from fans who had placed pre-bids with our auction clerk, Pam Brandle. Pam bid in the live auction for
them, and she won! If you would like Pam to bid for you on any of the auction items shown below, write to her via
Pamb@milehighcomics.com. Our auctions are fun!
That's it for today. I need to get back downstairs now and help even more with disposing of all that old paperwork. I
will keep the saleable/historic stuff, but the rest (80%) is heading for recycle. Even my seemingly non-stop stashing has
its limits...
Happy collecting!
