Chuck's $100,000 Birthday Auction Howdy! I am in San Francisco today, getting ready for tonight's gala 60th Anniversary Ball of the Imperial council of San Francisco. I should have photos for you on Monday of this historic event, but for now I am in a bit of a panic as I have three hours of intense preparation ahead of me. If you ever had a thought that being a drag queen at a major public event is easy, think again. Makeup, shoes, hair, and jewelry must all be just right, or you will be totally obliterated in massive quantities of shade from your dear and sweet (not!) fellow queens. 'Nuff said. $100,000+ Auction March 1st (Click on image to view all 40 lots) Anyhoo, the other reason that I am sweating bullets this afternoon is that Will Moulton did an absolutely fantastic job of picking a mind-boggling assortment of great back issues for next Saturday's (March 1st) no-minimum-bid auction. I asked Will to make this one auction especially exciting, as it is in celebration of my 70th birthday, but even I was shocked at the final outcome. I can absolutely (positively!) guarantee that the 30-40 bidders that we typically draw in for one of our monthly auctions in our Mega-Store will not (Not!) have anywhere near enough room on their credit cards to bid even 5% of the $100,000.00+ in list price that is the sum of these great issues. Scared? Yes, I am scared!
