Local News - 50th Anniversary Party this Saturday!
Hi!
This is William with
Mile High Comics.
I just wanted to make sure everyone knew that this Saturday (February 29th) we will be celebrating
our Mile High Comics 50th Anniversary with a party at our
Jason Street Mega Store.
We will be running a Buy 1 get the 2nd at 50% off sale on all Toys, Statues, Trade Paperbacks,
Hardcovers, Posters, and Apparel all day Saturday. Cake will also be served at the beginning of
the day. Bob Conway (Mile High Comics 1st customer) we
also be here talking with Chuck about the early days in the comics industry.
Poker Flyer
During this celebration we will be hosting our
monthly Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament.
The event starts at 11:00 AM. If you register in advance, playing in our tournament essentially costs
you nothing, as your $25 donation is immediately rewarded with a $25 gift certificate that you can
utilize to purchase anything you might wish to own in
our gigantic store.
Please note, however, that we only provide these gift certificates to players who register in advance.
You can certainly still register on the morning of the game, but only if we have seats still available.
Auction Flyer
Also starting at 11:30 AM we will have our
huge no-minimum bid comics and toys auction,
arrive early and take a look at all the incredible items! This
auction
has 46 core lots filled with 450+ Silver Age comics, rare comics variants, scarce toys, and much, much
more. We will also have at least 200 last-minute throw-in items.
Cambridge with some of the Mystery Boxes
On a sad note, due to the massive popularity of our
5 lb mystery boxes
I am sorry to announce that this weekend we will NOT be able to offer our “Comics by the Pound” sale.
We just didn’t have enough time to get a respectable inventory ready for the number of people we are
expecting, again sorry for the inconvenience. We are going to work all next week and get a huge selection
ready for next Saturday (March 7th). We will run the sale on that Saturday from 12-1 PM Only!
Amazing photo by Cara Romero
And lastly Chuck will be hosting a tour of his Pueblo Indian pottery gallery from 2:00-3:00 PM for all
who are interested. He will have his friends from Santa Fe, Diego and Cara Romero and they will help him
in providing a tour. Diego Romero is a well-respected, famous, and wildy talented potter and artist from the Cochiti Pueblo
and his wife Cara Romero is taking the Indian art world by storm with her incredibly evocative photographs.
She earned the prestigious "Best of Show" award from among 1,400 artists exhibiting their works at the
prestigious Santa Fe Indian Market two years ago, which is as good as it gets. They are also incredibly
kind and fun people, so getting to meet them in person on Saturday is truly a treat.
