X-Men (1963) #451
Guest-starring X-23. In time, every super-hero will have had at least one clone. Superman's became Superboy. Spider-Man's became the Scarlet Spider. And now Wolverine has a clone of his own, the teen firebrand named X-23. The X.S.E. (X-Treme Sanctions Executive) has been investigating a series of mutant murders in District X, Manhattan's mutant ghetto, but along the way the team has stumbled over the apparent kidnapping of a Mafia princess. In pursuit of the killer, who may also be the kidnapper, the X.S.E. run into X-23 at Wannabes, a club for would-be mutants.
A bloody battle ensues with X-23 giving as good as she gets from Wolverine and the X-Men and the conflict spills into the street. As X-23 continues her pursuit of the Bacchae, an all-female assassins' club, the X-Men fall into the midst of her battles. And as they come across the Mob boss' daughter, the mutants also encounter the monstrous Geech, an enforcer working for Don Parisi! "Impediments" is written by Chris Claremont and drawn by Alan Davis.
