PETER PARKER (1976) (#1-263) (SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN) #18 - Plot Synopsis

Peter Parker (1976) #18
Cover by Gil Kane. "My Friend, My Foe!" is written by Bill Mantlo and drawn by Sal Buscema. Starring Iceman and the Angel. The final chapter of Los Angeles' off-beat super-hero team called the Champions is played out in cruel fashion as Bobby (Iceman) Drake is turned against his friends Spider-Man and the Angel in a dangerous game of revenge. Hypnotized by the man called Rampage, who now lies dying from wounds sustained in his own battle with the Champions, Iceman has never before been so savage or deadly!

Somehow, Spidey and the Angel have to subdue their frosty friend without harming him and reverse the mind-control that has caused the young mutant to seek their deaths. And to top it all off, the company that built the Champions Tower for Warren (Angel) Worthington III is trying to buy off his lawsuit over its shoddy construction. Finally, Hector (White Tiger) Ayala finds a new love on the campus of Empire State University. But is it romance or a portent of bad things to come?
