JLA (1996) #95
Guest-starring the new Doom Patrol. "The Enemy Within the Tenth Circle Part Two" is written by Chris Claremont and John Byrne with art by Byrne and Jerry Ordway. The Justice League is in disarray. Superman has fallen prey to the vampire Crucifer and now acts as his mindless slave. Luckily, Kryptonian blood isn't the ghoul's favorite delicacy and instead of making the Man of Steel one of the undead, Crucifer merely uses him to get to a more desired pawn: the mysterious and beautiful Faith. Meanwhile, the mystery of missing meta-gene children continues as Green Lantern investigates kidnappings in Baltimore. Coming upon the crime in progress, the Lantern falls to the strange powers of Vortex and Nudge, two of Crucifer's prize students. However, GL is spared further injury as members of the new Doom Patrol arrive on the scene.
Back at the JLA Watchtower, Batman, the Flash and Wonder Woman hear Green Lantern's report and discover that the weird occult symbols witnessed at the scene of the abductions match that of an immortal cult of vampires who clashed with the Amazons thousands of years ago. This knowledge could prove fatal to Diana, however, as Superman is sent in by Crucifer to make sure the trail goes cold in a hurry. Meanwhile, the Atom descends into a strange and dangerous dimension found within a magical stone also found during the investigation. Finally, the new (yet old) Doom Patrol moves into action behind the scenes and Batman finds a bullet waiting for him when he gets close to cracking the case.
