Iron Man #99
Featuring the return of one of Iron Man's classic suits of armor and one of his oldest villains! Sunfire, the Japanese mutant master of solar fire, is running amok in Tony Stark's factory. Striking out in fury against the American industrialist he thinks corrupted the soul of Japan with bribes, Sunfire seemingly has destroyed Michael O'Brien, Tony's enemy who wore Iron Man's armor. However, as the Golden Avenger soon finds out, O'Brien's not been destroyed but rather, teleported to the Mandarin's far Eastern lair.
Defeating Sunfire, Iron Man turns his attention to his most deadly foe, the Mandarin. But can even the real, original Iron Man defeat the madman in his very own fortress and rescue O'Brien? Meanwhile, sneak thief Harry Key finds he's run afoul of Madame Masque when he tries to steal plans from Tony Stark's vaults. And S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Jasper Sitwell finds running Stark Enterprises isn't the glamor job he always thought it would be. "At the Mercy of the Mandarin" is a set-up to a killer 100th issue. Bill Mantlo writes and George Tuska draws.
