DETECTIVE COMICS (1937) (#0-881) (DC) #313 - Plot Synopsis

Detective Comics (1937) #313
"The Mystery of the $1,000,000 Treasure Hunt" is written by Jack Scheff and drawn by Sheldon Moldoff (although attributed to Bob Kane). Batman and Robin respond to an anonymous tip to check out a non-descript warehouse where two thugs are busy getting a secret clue from a cuckoo clock. The clue is the first in a series of hints left in a deceased gangster's will. The prize of $1,000,000 is offered to whoever can get to the last clue first. And as the Dynamic Duo race criminal low-life toward the big pay-out, they realize they are trapped in an elaborate game of revenge.

Then, John Jones, Manhunter from Mars takes on a crime boss with a penchant for occult objects. When the nefarious thug gets his hand on the mysterious Wand of Wodessa, it's all the Martian Manhunter can do to stay alive in the wake of its terrible sorcery. You'll have to read on to see if even someone with titanic powers born of the Red Planet can survive "The Wizard Who Conquered J'onn J'onnz" (drawn by Joe Certa). Also, don't miss the text-only thriller "They Search Your Past!"
