Defenders (1972) #12
"The Titan Strikes Back!" is written by Len Wein and drawn by Sal Buscema and Len Wein. Xemnu, the Titan is an alien with a problem. His planet's population has been decimated and so no one is around to lord over. Time and again he's turned to Earth to repopulate his world but twice already he's been thwarted. Once by mere mortals and then again by the Defenders (Marvel Feature #3). Now, Xemnu has turned his sites on the good citizens of a sleepy little hamlet called Plunketville. His plan is to use his mind control powers to enslave the populace and force them to build him a spaceship.
Unfortunately for Xemnu, the Hulk happens to be wandering in the woods outside of Plunketville and stumbles across the alien's heinous plan. Xemnu has to use all of mental powers including the ability to move objects by telekinesis to neutralize the gamma-powered giant. But before he goes unconscious, the Hulk is able to send a mental cry for help to Doctor Strange. The Master of Mystic Arts and the beautiful Valkyrie are soon airborne on the back of Aragorn, the Black Knight's winged steed. When they arrive, Doc and Val mix it up with the locals and in particular, Mayor Amos Moses, who is Xemnu in disguise. Can the Defenders stop the Titan from abducting an entire town?
