X-MEN (1991) (#1-275) (MARVEL) #115 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: X-Men #115
"E is for Extinction" Second in Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely's refreshingly contemporary treatment of Marvel's premier mutant team. Morrison and Quitely pull the X-Men into the 21st century with just their core personalities intact, reinventing the line. Transporting Ugly John, a triple-faced mutant, to safety, Cyclops and Wolverine run afoul of the newly revived Sentinels. The mutant-hunting robots launch a savage attack from a South American jungle. Yes, once again, a member of the Trask family commands them but only for a fleeting instant. A keener intellect soon pulls his strings and controls the Sentinels.

Meanwhile, back at Westchester, Jean Grey and the still mutating Beast, attend to the ailing Professor X who can no longer control the power of his tremendous mind. Another mentalist, Emma Frost, the White Queen, stands in a classroom on the island of Genosha, where mutants rule humans. Not on the sidelines for long, the mutant nation is about to center world stage again. Morrison's startling vision of the world of genetic prejudice is a jarring as it is enjoyable. And Quitely's perfect snapshots of action and alien settings evoke the visual power of Mobius.
