X-MEN (1963) (#1-113, UNCANNY X-MEN #114-544) (MARVEL) #18 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: X-Men #18
The Iceman stands alone against the power of Magneto! "If Iceman Should Fail" his fellow X-Men and Professor Xavier will undoubtedly perish. Ambushed last issue by the mutant master of magnetism, Professor X, Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Angel and Beast are hurdling toward the sub-stratosphere in a helium-filled balloon with their oxygen quickly running out. Bobby (Iceman) Drake must haul himself from a hospital bed and stop Magneto from using his captives Angel's hapless parents to build an army of ultra-powerful mutants. And to do it, the X-Men's youngest member must assault the X-Mansion itself.

Meanwhile, Professor X probes the mystery of how Magneto could have escaped the clutches of the cosmically powered Stranger (who grabbed Magnus and Toad in issue #11). Therein lies the key to saving them all. It all comes down to another showdown between Marvel's most misunderstood mutants and Magneto, their eternal foe. Featuring the peerless plot of Stan Lee and Jay Gavin's potent pencils!
