WEIRD WONDER TALES (1973) #14 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Weird Wonder Tales #14
Far-out tales of other worlds and supernatural menace from Marvel's treasure-filled vaults of comics. First off, travel with us to New York's Greenwich Village in the late 1960s where two young hippies dabbling in the occult find "Evil is a Baaaaad Scene!!" Written by Allyn Brodsky and drawn by Don Heck (and originally presented in Tower of Shadows #4), it's a cautionary tale of what happens when a bitter Satanist called Brother Alistar finds a couple of patrons and invites a demon to have them for lunch. In exchange Alistar wants power over the people who mock his study of the black arts. But all doesn't go as Alistar plans and the tables turn very quickly on a very uncool cat!

Then, witness the irony visited on "The Man Who Couldn't Be Touched!" (originally presented in World of Suspense #3). Written by Forgione and drawn by Jack Abel during a time when the Cold War made bomb shelters all the rage, this story moralizes about the dangers of isolationism. A brilliant young scientist devises a force field capable of withstanding the ravages of inevitable nuclear war. Unable to convince anyone else to join him in his protective bubble, he lives alone for two decades while war rages outside. But when he wakes he finds not a world of rubble but a paradise on Earth where peace and prosperity reign and science has conquered death. Then, in "There Were 3 Victims!" is a very well-drawn sci fi tale of crime in the depths of space (originally presented in Astonishing Tales #53). Finally, an alien discovers the true meaning of Christmas and Earth is spared from invasion because of it in "Man in the Dark!," a story drawn by Pete Tumlinson and originally presented in Mystic #37.
