TOMB OF DARKNESS (1974) #10 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Tomb of Darkness #10
Four fearsome fables from the crypts of Marvel. First off, step into the shoes of "The Man Who Cried Ghost!" as a lonesome gravedigger's prank calls to the police go a little too far. And when he actually is attacked by spirits from the cemetery he guards, the police are nowhere to be found (originally presented in Adventures in Terror #12). Then, in a tale of political terror and psychological warfare, the secret police of an Asian communist state seek to plant an agent in the village of the democratic state to the south. They seek out a man to impersonate the village fool since he is a "Man Alone!" But their ploy backfires when their agent takes his role a little too seriously (originally presented in Journey into Mystery #16).

Then, Laura was a woman in love with the superb ventriloquist Ventro. She stalked him at his shows until he consented to see her. Laura thought Ventro's frustrating resistance to her female charms meant he was a man with his own mind. But then she found out the true power of the talking dummy act was "The Wooden Man!" (originally presented in Weird Worlds #6). Finally, an old millionaire is reviled by his three stepsons who are frustrated with his long life. Waiting for him to die so they can inherit his money, they are more like "The Vultures" than men! Artist Mannie Banks illustrates, however, that in death, the old man can ensure only those who loved him in life will benefit from his demise (originally presented in Journey into Mystery #16).
