THANOS (2003) (#1-12) (MARVEL) #3 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Thanos (2003) #3
"Alone!" is written and drawn by Jim Starlin and inked by Al Milgrom. Re-telling the fantastic origin of Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds. The last survivor of Taa and the previous universe, Galactus was remade by cosmic forces in the Big Bang to live on in our space-time continuum as an elemental force of destruction; an uncertainty factor to drive existence along in its development. For eons, mighty Galactus has scoured the galaxies, seeking to drain planets of their energies; power he needs to survive. But now, the Devourer has discovered an abundant and concentrated source of that "food" within the star around which Rigel-18 circles. He sets about to turn the star into a nova to harvest it.

Meanwhile, the Titan Thanos, in an attempt to turn over a new leaf, has agreed to help the Rigellians fight off Galactus. It's a hopeless task and all Thanos can achieve is a stall, giving the Rigellians time to abandon their colony and move on before Galactus destroys their solar system. With the aid of Adam Warlock, Pip the Troll and Moondragon, Thanos is able to ascertain some of Galactus' plans. But a risky encounter on a mental plane puts Thanos squarely in Galactus' sights. Is a final confrontation far behind?
