TALES OF EVIL (1975) #2 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Tales of Evil (1975) #2
Featuring the Bog Beast. “The Fifty Dollar Body!” is written by John Albano and drawn by Jack Sparling. Ever since the Bog Beast crawled his way into our world through the depths of the black, bubbling goo of the La Brea Tar Pits, he has been called a “thing” and a “monster.” Yet, ironically even as he has exhibited the nobler aspects of humanity, humanity has acted monstrously. Case in point: a couple of revolutionary bank-robbers who invade the barn in which he’s taken refuge. Judy and Ralphie exhibit the worst characteristics of mankind including greed, betrayal and a callous disregard for life. But even as they endanger the Bog Beast’s weird un-life, he witnesses their horrible fates as karma turns the tables of destiny on the foolish couple.

Next, a late night commuter finds his ride home on a cold, snowy night will inevitably be the final night of his life as he catches “The Last Train” (story by Russ Jones and art by Jerry Grandenetti). Then, a jealous young man gives up everything, including his soul, to gain revenge on his enemies and the unrequited love of his life in “Requiem for a Werewolf!” (written by Marvin Channing and art by Tom Sutton). But as Carlos Martinez gains power to exact his vengeance on his landlord and his former girlfriend, he loses more and more of his humanity!
