SUPERMAN (1986) (#0-226, #650-714) (DC) #45 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Superman (1986) #45
"Native Sons" is written and drawn by Jerry Ordway with inks by Dennis Janke. So much has gone on to turn Superman's life upside down lately that he knows only a trip back to Smallville will ground him again. Visiting Ma and Pa Kent on the farm revives the Man of Steel's sense of who he is and the values he grew up with. But in Smallville, not all is the same as when a young Clark Kent left to seek his fortune in Metropolis. Clark's high school pal Pete Ross is now the County Agent and his office becomes the scene of a violent protest by local Oto tribe Native Americans upset that a new industrial complex won't mean new jobs for them.

More upset at the prospect of any industrial development, let alone scarcity of jobs, is a powerful shaman who employs a mystical wolf of fire to hold Superman while he tries to defuse the situation at Pete Ross' office. Kryptonian might proves no match for Native American magic, however. And if that defeat weren't enough, Clark also gets a slap on the face from Lana Lang, who feels left behind by his new life in Metropolis. Is Clark's teenage love affair finally over and his true love with Lois Lane just beginning? Plus, read an 8-page insert from Jimmy Olsen's diary. Won't the Daily Planet's top photographer ever forgive his best ex-pal Superman for the misadventures of the recent past?
