SUPERMAN (1939) (#1-423) (DC) #201 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Superman (1939) #201
"Clark Kent Abandons Superman!" Art by Curt Swan. When the burden of being Superman becomes too much to handle, Clark Kent leaves behind his mission and his powers to try to find a new life on another planet under a red sun. For a time, he enjoys a new identity, powerless but peaceful, content and loved by a beautiful woman. But as he soon discovers, you can't escape the responsibility of being a hero.

Then, enterprising journalist Clark Kent takes an assignment in a South American Banana Republic, exposing the ambitions of the fascistic commander of a military prison. But his critical reporting instead lands Clark in prison along with all of the other political opponents of Col. Stradi. Still, Superman uses his amazing power and intelligence to turn Stradi's prison into "The Jolly Jailhouse!" (art by Wayne Boring).
