STRANGE TALES (1951) (#1-85 ATLAS, #86-188 MARVEL) #122 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Strange Tales #122
Featuring the Human Torch and Dr. Strange, Master of the Mystic Arts. Cover art by Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko. Two titanic tales of Marvel's greatest heroes in one book. First off, in "3 Against the Torch!,"a trio of henchmen once employed by Dr. Doom vow to once again win their Latverian lord's favor by taking out the Fantastic Four, one by one. Handsome Harry Phillips, Dakor and Bull Brogin successfully trap the Torch in an asbestos-lined trailer and then turn their dastardly ways on the rest of the FF. But the Torch is not so easily beaten! Story by Stan Lee with art by Dick Ayers and inks by George Bell.

Then, in "The World Beyond," weary is the mind of Dr. Strange, whose endless vigil against the dark powers of the nether-realms that threaten Earth. But when he does take occasion to sleep, there is no rest from his struggles. Visited by a mysterious wraith and robbed of his magical spells, Doc is whisked deep into the miasmatic realm of Nightmare. The lord of sleeping terrors imprisons and tortures his old foe and all seems lost until Dr. Strange raises the Gulgol, a creature even Nightmare fears. But how did Dr. Strange accomplish such a task without using his magic? Story is by Lee with art by Ditko.
