SECRET INVASION (2008) #4 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Secret Invasion (2008) #4
Story by Brian Michael Bendis and art by Leinil Yu and Mark Morales. The return of Col. Nick Fury and his Howling Commandoes. Betrayal and surprise are the hallmarks of this sweeping saga that's rocking the Marvel Universe. Although some critics may accuse Bendis of jumping the shark with so many trusted heroes revealing themselves to be Skrull sleeper agents, you can't deny the appeal of the unknown threat coming at your preconceptions from a blind angle. While Mr. Fantastic slowly gets pulled apart by Skrull torture machines, Agent Brand of S.W.O.R.D. (the Sentient Worlds Observation and Response Department) comes the closest to the center of the Skrull armada threatening Earth.

On the ground, Super-Skrulls armed with nearly every power imaginable hold off Ms. Marvel, the Young Avengers and Fury's new Commandoes for awhile before the battle-harded Nick Fury decides its time to pull out, leaving Ms. Marvel to her fate. And in the Savage Land, Spider-Woman nearly has Tony (Iron Man) Stark convinced that he's a Skrull sleeper agent when the Black Widow breaks up the party. Finally, the S.H.I.E.L.D. heli-carrier, having been downed by a computer virus, is boarded by a Skrull war party led by none other than the Avengers' mild-mannered butler Jarvis!
