RAWHIDE KID (1955) (#1-151) (MARVEL) #57 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Rawhide Kid #57
"When the Scorpion Strikes" is written and drawn by Larry Lieber. Before Spider-Man clashed with the super-criminal MacDonald Gargan became, the Rawhide Kid fought the first Scorpion, the strangest highwayman to ride the dusty trails of the Old West. A stagecoach is held up by a mysterious hooded figure in green who uses paralyzing bullets to immobilize his victims. Hearing the commotion nearby, the Rawhide Kid barrels in, loaded for bear. But after a few punches are thrown with the villain, the Kid finds he's also frozen in his tracks by the Scorpion's sting!

Who is this brand new type of outlaw? He began as apothecary Jim Evans, a simple man who was made to dance in front his lady friend by a bully's six-shooters. Embittered at his embarrassment, Evans created his paralyzing bullets and adopted the secret identity of the Scorpion. Then he set out on a life of crime. But the Rawhide Kid is the sworn enemy of all criminals and as soon as he recovers from the paralyzing effect of his bullets, the Kid tracks the Scorpion to his hideout in an abandoned mineshaft. It's time for justice -- Western style! Then read "The Man Called Kleeg," the re-presented story of a badman who was used to people running from his blazing irons. But one man didn't run. One man stood his ground. And that man, Wild Bill Hickok, watched as Kleeg's heart gave out on him from fright when high noon called for a showdown. Art is by Don Heck with words and plot by Stan Lee.
