RAWHIDE KID (1955) (#1-151) (MARVEL) #49 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Rawhide Kid (1955) #49
The Rawhide Kid has faced some bizarre foes in his bright career as a bringer of justice to the High Plains. He's battled Karate Cragg, Doc Holliday and even Marko the Manhunter. But none of his battles could have prepared him for the wiles of "The Menacing Masquerader!" (written and drawn by Larry Lieber). In a town where he's not well known or wanted, the Rawhide Kid can finally relax a bit, or so he thinks. A local bully tests his mettle and learns that despite his small stature, the Kid packs a mean punch.

Later, reunited with his old prospector pal Packrat Pete, the Kid learns that a local land-baron Fats Larson is trying to muscle him into selling his gold claim. Soon an attempt is made on Pete's life. But the attacker has changed his clothes and appearance before the Rawhide Kid or anyone else can get close to investigate. This master of disguise who is also Larson's hired assassin now has the Kid in his sights and there's no way our hero will be able to see it coming when the executioner, who could appear as anyone, draws his gun. Then, don't miss the story of how an Easterner came West for his health and ended up taking up the "Sheriff's Star" to stop injustice; an Easterner known as Doc Holliday! (written by Stan Lee with art by Gene Colan).
