PROMETHEA (1999) #18 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Promethea #18
"Life on Mars" tells the story of Promethea's travels through the fifth sphere, Geburah, the home of Strength and of Warfare. The storybook warrior woman and her predecessor have come almost full circle through the higher spheres and now travel through the demonic planes where Asmodeus reigns supreme. Amidst the seas of hate and revulsion, the questing pair peer through into the offices of the Mayor of Malkuth. He's a multi-personality psychopath who's also possessed by a host of devils. Grace, Sophie's friend who has taken on the Promethea power temporarily, is confronting the chief evil in the city.

However, the hosts of evils employed by Asmodeus and his servants are as nothing to the wisdom of Promethea. Even in the depths of the web of hate, Promethea knows she must embrace the evil and violence in order to gain power over it. Alan Moore and J.H. Williams III continue the lesson of the magical realms that overlay our own mundane world. And in their words and art, the nature of literature itself is laid bare for all to learn. Cover by Mick Gray after Frank Frazetta.
