PLASTIC MAN (1966) (#1-20) (DC) #1 - Descriptive Bibliography

Plot Synopsis: Plastic Man (1966) #1
Premiere issue. "The Dirty Devices of Dr. Dome!" was written by Arnold Drake and drawn by Gil Kane. The zaniness of campy super-heroics reached its zenith in the mid-1960s when the Batman TV series, starring Adam West and Burt Ward, took America by storm. Here, DC taps into that kooky crime-fighter craze by resurrecting Plastic Man, the Golden Age's most flexible hero, in a loony, mixed up caper that mocks some of rival publisher Marvel's most popular characters.

Plastic Man inspires a variety of emotions in those around him. Cutie-pie debutante Mike (short for Michelle) thinks he's dreamy but her mother "Moms" finds Plas repulsive. Police Captain McSniffe just knows Plas is a crook (even though he has no evidence of that) while Plas' good pal Gordy follows his every footstep loyally. And the devious Dr. Dome just wants Plastic Man eliminated! Dome gives the order to his obnoxious operatives: the pernicious Professor X and lovely but lethal Lynx must destroy Plastic Man!
